1 Title Visionary Florida Hispanic Heritage s Updated: 2/5/18 Description Students are now invited to apply for our Visionary. All high school students (grades 9-12) are eligible to apply. Deadline is May 1, There is absolutely no cost to apply and a student does not need to demonstrate financial need in order to be eligible. You may also visit our Visionary page for complete details! Governor Rick Scott and First Lady Ann Scott have announced the 2017 Hispanic Heritage Month contests for students and educators. All K-12 students are encouraged to participate in the essay and art contests. Parents, students, teachers, and principals are also invited to nominate full-time, outstanding educators for the Hispanic Heritage Month Excellence in Education Award. These contests provide students with an opportunity to a four-year scholarship and is also an opportunity for students to learn how Hispanics contributed to the history and development of the state of Florida. The theme for this year's essay and art contests is "A Recognition of the Role of Hispanic-Americans in Shaping Florida Today." Students are asked to share how Hispanic Floridians have impacted our state's history and culture. 2 A Philanthropic leadership Pat Oliphant Memorial Student Technology Service Florida Retired Education HEAT s TeamWork USA The Palm Beach Area Chapter of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is looking for local, high school students to participate in a & Philanthropy called Students of the Year. This seven-week initiative is for high school students enrolled in public and private schools, who are enthusiastic about volunteerism, community involvement and leadership. The student team that raises the most funds will earn the title Student(s) of the Year, and awarded a $5,000 scholarship to the college or university of their choice. Students may visit our website to learn more about the campaign or to apply as a 2018 candidate, The School District of Palm Beach County has created Student Technology Service to recognize and reward outstanding high school seniors for service and support they have provided to their schools and/or communities in the area of technology. Each high school has the opportunity to nominate one student for these non-renewable scholarship awards: First Place - $3500, Second Place - $2500, and Third Place - $1500 and Finalist - $500. 4 CAFCI Caribbean American For Community Involvement in Florida ( CAFCI ). CAFCI is a 501(c)(3) community organization based in Royal Palm Beach. In our effort to support our local youth and the Palm Beach county school board s efforts and strategic plan of fostering post high school success, in the past CAFCI has shared the application with the School board to post on its website and encourage students to apply for the award.
