3 What is SAAAP? The Southeast Asian Art Academic Programme Launched at SOAS in 2014 Supported through a 15m grant from the Alphawood Foundation Involves activity in 10 countries across the region

4 What is SAAAP? Enhances the understanding and preservation of ancient to pre-modern Buddhist and Hindu art and architecture in Southeast Asia Structured through research and publications; outreach; and the Alphawood Scholarships

5 The AlphawoodScholarships An estimated 80 full postgraduate scholarships to be offered between and , including for: MPhil / PhDs Master of Arts (History of Art and Archaeology or Religious Arts of Asia) 52 weeks Postgraduate Certificate and Diploma (Asian Art) 40 weeks Full support for English-language tuition In-course English-language support 4, 8 or 12 week English-language pre-sessional courses 1, 2 or 3 term ELAS English-language tuition

6 The AlphawoodScholarships Annual stipend of 16,539 (pro rata) 100% tuition fee waiver (for both English-language support and academic programmes) Travel, visa and IELTS examination costs covered Annual Study Tour to important European collections of ancient Southeast Asian artefacts Opportunity to apply for further research support through the SAAAP Academic Support Fund

People working in this field need to interact with each other we need to connect countries of Southeast Asia, but we also need to connect the West to the East.
