9 Extra Amount from your Scholarship Donor Purpose: mostly a short-term research stay connected to your doctoral research usually a few months --- Amount granted: typically travelling expenses and a monthly extra amount Ask your current scholarship donor!

Scholarship Purpose: extra amount for those holding a JLU Graduate Scholarship and do research abroad 1-12 months Only for holders of a JLU Graduate Scholarship Amount granted (monthly): depending on country, up to travel expenses + tuition (if inevitable) + expenses for conferences + health insurance

21 Good reasons to think about PostDoc scholarships 1. Last best chance to get foreign experience that easily 2. Work on your academic profile! 3. Get money for things you would do anyway (conferences etc.) 4. Build your network always!

22 DAAD-Scholarships - only for German citizens or foreigners with equivalent legal status (acknowledged refugees, permanent residents, Niederlassungserlaubnis/Daueraufenthalt-EG) - only granted in case a return to Germany seems likely hard to obtain for those who came to Germany in order to do their doctorate, but not possible: a) if you were employed for five years in Germany and have paid old age pension insurance (true for all university employees). b) if you are regarded highly qualified c) marrying Germans
