On September 12, 2017, we file our Builable Areas Phase 2 Application with the Alberta Utilities Commission (AUC) (Proceeing 22665; EDP Renewables SH Project GP Lt.). Following feeback from stakeholers an further technical evaluation, we have mae moifications to Project esign, an we will be filing an upate to our AUC application in the coming weeks. We have reuce the number of turbine locations to 3. We will not be consiering alternate turbine locations. The total project capacity will be 29. MW an each turbine will have a capacity of 3.6MW. We have upate the Project map, noise contours, an the shaow flicker analysis for the reuce number of turbine locations. We have not move the turbine locations, we have only reuce the number of locations. The Project maps show the 3 propose turbine locations, the upate location of the collector system, an the upate location of the access roas. These changes ientify a reuce overall Project impact. The location of the substation, permanent meteorological towers an layown areas have not change. We have upate the visual simulations to reflect this change in the number of locations. The panel reviews the initial filings an grants what is referre to as staning to those who may be irectly an aversely affecte by the propose project. Staning is necessary to continue involvement as an intervener in the proceeing which may inclue the filing of evience an participation in an oral or written hearing. The AUC will issue a notice of hearing setting out the hearing ate, location an aitional process steps an ealines. An AUC public hearing operates similarly to a court proceeing an is a quasi-juicial process. The general public is welcome to atten as an observer an the hearings are often broacast online so that those intereste can listen-in. Participants in a hearing can either represent themselves or be represente by legal counsel. In aition, participants may hire experts to assist in preparing an presenting evience to support their position. Persons who hire legal counsel or technical experts must be aware that while reimbursement for the costs of legal an technical assistance may be available uner Rule 009, recovery of costs is subject to the Commission assessing the value of the contribution provie by counsel an technical experts. Step 7: The ecision For electric transmission facilities, the nee for transmission evelopment file by the Alberta Electric System Operator to the AUC must be consiere to be correct unless someone satisfies the Commission that the nees application is technically eficient, or that to approve it woul be contrary to the public interest. For electric nees applications, the Commission can either approve, eny, or sen the application back with suggestions for change. Commission ecisions mae about applications file for a specific utility evelopment, incluing electric transmission lines, gas utility pipelines an power plants, may be approve, approve with conitions or enie. Decisions are typically release within 90 ays from the close of the recor as a written report. The ecision, available on the AUC website, will summarize the Commission s finings an state its reasons for the ecision with any conitions or approval time limits if applicable. Step 9: Construction an operation Any applicant that receives a permit to construct an licence to operate a facility from the Commission must ahere to any conitions that were set out in the ecision. The potential effect the propose project may have on your property or interest in the property.
