2 DISCOVER US Channabasaveshwara Institute of Technology (CIT) runs under the auspices of Sri Channabasaveshwara Swamy Rural Education Society (CRED Society). The society was established in 2000 under the Management of Sri G.S.Basavaraj, the honorable Member of Parliament and G.B Jyothi Ganesh Secretary & Managing Director from Tumkur with a vision to create centers of excellence in education and other related fields and to serve the society to enhance the quality of life through excellence and leadership in professionally relevant education. CIT was established in the year 2001 with the objective of providing quality technical education. The institute is affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belgaum, approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi and Recognized by Government of Karnataka. The institute is ISO 9001:2008 Certified and Accredited by National Board of Accreditation (NBA). The Institute is located near Gubbi, Tumkur, ~ 80 KM from Bangalore on National Highway 206. The Campus spreads across 60 Acres of lush green land with beautiful landscaping. The area enjoys pleasant atmosphere throughout the year. Students and staff adore the meticulously maintained campus and welcoming natural surroundings which itself is an inspiration to learn and excel. Students from throughout the nation, from different cultures have chosen CIT as their destination for higher education. Library is an invaluable resource with more than 60,000 books and 22 (hard copy) periodicals & many more on line subscriptions. It is automated with an integrated library software package called New Gen Lib. Computing Facilities At CIT Campus, total of about 1000 computer system are installed. Most of them are networked and have access to internet facility. In one sitting about 500 candidates can take up the online test or alternatively about 900 candidates can take up off - line test. 5 Spread across 60 acres of lush green area, the campus of CIT is situated right amidst the coconut grooves the campus is characterized by aesthetically pleasing buildings which inspire students to strive for excellence. The campus is replete with all the modern amenities. The entire campus is connected by a Wi-Fi network. Every student and faculty member has access to the network. Facilities are available to conduct tests online. The amphi theatre is also available to conduct mega events.

KNEW Technical Event The annual KNEW event of CIT is a summit of the theoretical and practical aspects of engineering with an exposure to the latest trends and innovations. Attracting participants from all over Karnataka State. It comprises workshops, guest lectures, robotics events, hobby projects, paper presentations, and various other events to test the technical acumen of the students. Society of Automotive Engineering The SAE collegiate club at CIT is a student branch of SAE International. SAE aims to combine research, development, design, manufacture and utilization of vehicles which operate on land, water, air and space. Entrepreneurship Cell Entrepreneurship Cell at CIT is established to promote entrepreneurship in the region and also to provide incubation and funding through a venture capitalist to nurture budding ideas and aspiring entrepreneurs. The Cell organizes workshops, awareness camps, etc. Technical Societies/Clubs The various technical societies & clubs conduct numerous workshops, take up projects, and carries out activities in other related areas and is a good learning platform for students who are fascinated by the wonders of engineering. Mathematics Club A small group of math -enthusiasts in CIT have formed the Mathematics Club. A unique attempt to unravel the treasure trove that the subject has to offer, the club conducts events, competitions and workshops. Flair The Cultural Festival of the institute is a perennial feature at CIT campus. It's a celebration of the human spirit, thoughts and ideas.

Internships/ Training Programs It is quite remarkable that CIT has seen its budding engineers fare exceptionally well not only in Indian Universities but in Foreign Institutions as well. Many other students did their internships in major technological Institutes/Organizations of India like IISC, BEL, BHEL, ISRO, etc. Alliance CIT has alliance with many Engineering Colleges across Karnataka for joint placement and other professional activities. As on date we have alliance with more than 30 engineering colleges (non-bangalore). Facilities for Recruiters Well-furnished auditoriums for conducting pre -placement talks and analytical tests. The Institute has conference rooms as well as facilities for Group Discussions and Personal Interviews. Student volunteers for all possible arrangements. Excellent facilities are available for conducting On -Line tests. In one sitting 500 candidates can be assessed through On-Line Tests or around 900 through Off-Line Tests. Video conferencing facilities are available for conducting one to one interviews. Hospitality CIT is well known for its hospitality since its inception and we strive hard to maintain the tradition. Transportation arrangement & the lodging arrangements are provided to the recruiters. Proper arrangement for visiting / touring the institute can also be arranged, as desired by the recruiters.
