Qualifications for Applicants Category Freshman Qualifications The applicant must satisfy at least one of the language proficiency requirements and conditions listed below. 1. Applicants holding the level 3 or higher in the Test of Proficiency in Korean (TOPIK) (Certificate must be valid at the time of submission) However, the applicant for the College of Engineering in Samcheok Campus and Dogye Campus (except the Electronics Information & Communication Engineering ) must hold the level 2 or higher). 2. Applicants who have completed the level 4 of higher class of the Korean language program at the KNU. 3. Applicants with the English Proficiency Test Scores -TOEFL PBT 530, CBT 197, ibt 71, IELTS 5.5, CEFR B2, TEPS 600, TOEIC 700 (Certificate must be valid at the time of submission) - Only the English test score is accepted for the applicants wishing to apply to the Department of Global Business at the College of Business Administration

9 Category Qualifications 4. For applicants wishing to apply to Arts and Sports areas, it s necessary to have completed the Korean language program for more than 1 year at universities in Korea. - Except Department of Sport Science 5. KGSP students, foreign government supported scholarship students, applicants from the countries whose native language is English (US, Canada, UK, South Africa, New Zealand, Australia, Ireland). Freshman 6. In the case of the number 1~4 above mentioned, applicants are expected to take the test or complete the course. (The relevant certificate must be submitted by August 24(Fri), 2018) Even though the applicant accepted with the condition of language qualification could not submit the language qualification related document by August 24 (Fri), 2018, he/she will be admitted for the spring 2019 upon providing that language qualification related document required in the application guide for spring 2019 within the specified period. All the international students admitted to the university must acquire the required language certificate before their graduation. Applicants must have the afore-mentioned qualifications for freshmen as well as the following educational requirements. Sophomore Transfer : Applicants who have completed 1 (or expects to complete) 1 year (2 semesters) program and earned over 33 credits at universities in Korea or overseas Junior Transfer: Applicants who have completed 2 (or expects to complete) 2 years (4 semesters) programs and earned over 65 credits at universities in Korea or overseas Transfer Student Senior Transfer: 1 Applicants who have (or expects to) a 3year college bachelor s degree of the kindergarten teacher program with the certificate for a licensed kindergarten teacher (level 2). 2 Applicants who have (or expects to) a 3year college bachelor s degree in medical personnel training program (radiologists, physical therapists, occupational therapists, dental hygienists) with the relevant certificates. Applicants who have graduated (or expects to) from a junior college (community college) in Korea or overseas KNU students enrolled in the Chuncheon, Samcheok and Dogye campuses are ineligible to apply. (But, students scheduled to graduate in August 2018 can apply) 1 The completion of 1 year (2 semesters) means that the student acquired at least the minimum required credits based on criteria set by the given university for the completion of first year (2 semesters). 2 The completion of 2 years (4 semesters) means that the student acquired at least the minimum required credits based on criteria set by the given university for the completion of second year (4 semesters)

Graduated College Transcript - Credits (or number hours of the courses) must be clearly stated in the transcript - The transfer student who is scheduled to graduate must submit the final transcript by July 27(Fri), A copy of a study plan - A separate plan for each department one wishes to apply Form 2 - A copy of TOPIK level 3 or higher - A copy of an English proficiency certificate 7. Language - A copy of completion certificate for the Korean language Proficiency program level 4 or higher from KNU (Select 1) - A copy of confirmation to submit the language proficiency certificate Form 3 (applicable only for the applicant who did not submit language score) 8. A copy of a financial statement - A bank statement (in case of submitting a Chinese bank statement, the amount must be deposited for more than 6 months) of the financial sponsor (father/mother) or the applicant verifying the deposit amount of Form 4 18,000 US dollars and more or a certificate of remittance or a certificate of currency exchange. 9. A copy of the financial sponsor's employment certificate - It is not necessary when the financial statement is of the applicant. - If the financial sponsor is a foreign national, information must be provided as to his/her employer, position, monthly salary and employer s contact information - 9 -

Performance Test List of Required Documents - If the applicant is living overseas at the time of performance test period, he/she must submit a video file or DVD recording the applicant actually playing. A copy of the ID cards of the applicant and parents respectively 14. Each of an original and translated copy of the Family Relation Certificate issued by the government organization - A Chinese applicant must submit an original and a translated copy of the Family Register (with the names of family members written in English) - If the Family Register is divided by more than two, submit the additional document of the Certificate of Kinship - Students who graduated from KNU are allowed to omit it. Enrollment Period: June 21 (Thu), 2018 ~ June 29 (Fri), 2018 B. Payment Method: It will be informed at the time of the announcement of admission decisions. 3. Refund of Tuition Fee A. The tuition fee is returned according to the university regulations if the applicant who has to unavoidably withdraw from admission by statute before the date of matriculation or due to the rejection of visa. B. Submit the tuition refund application to the applied campus (International Affairs Office for Chuncheon Campus, Office of International Relations for Samcheok Campus). 4. The admission may be rescinded even after being admitted or entered if the applicant is later discovered to have applied through illegal means such as false or counterfeit materials, and the tuition fee will not be refunded. 5. The standard certificate of admission will be sent to the student who has to apply for the visa to stay abroad. 10. If the accepted student has to withdraw from admission for unavoidable reasons, the paid tuition fee may be refunded according to the university regulations. 11. Every admitted student must buy accident insurance effective as of the date of entering Korea in preparation for possible accidents or illnesses, it must be valid while in school. 12. The applicants are evaluated by calculating the average scores graded by the 3 members of the Document, Interview, and Performance Test Screening Committee by department (major). 2.
