1 Awards and Scholarship committee Introduction The Scholarship and Awards Committee conducts interviews of the candidates who apply for college scholarship for needy students. During selection of the students the criteria for selection that are mentioned in the prospectus are strictly adhered to. Students who have received scholarship in the previous year but secured less than second class in the Annual examination are not considered for a scholarship the next year. The wards of college employees (Class III &IV) are not given this benefit as they can avail of other concessions provided by the college. The notice regarding filling of forms and dates of interview is circulated several times to ensure that all students are made aware of the same. Students who submit incomplete forms are not considered. 5 Report of the Scholarship and Award committee for the year The Scholarship and Awards committee received 31 forms for scholarships. The last date for submission of forms was 30 October It was decided that the criteria for selection one mentioned in the prospectus be strictly adhered to. Moreover, it was also decided that students who had received scholarship in the previous year but secured less marks in the Annual examination would not be considered this year. The wards of college employees (Class III &IV) would not be given the benefit as they could avail of other concessions provided by the college. The notice regarding filling of forms was circulated several times to ensure that all students could be made aware of the same. The interview of the students was conducted on 6 th December 2016 at third floor, Department of Chemistry. 17 students present themselves for the interview in front of the committee. A total of thirty one forms were received, the breakup of which is mentioned below: Commerce 19 Science 05 Arts 02 Unaided 05 Students who submitted incomplete forms were not considered. The selection procedure was based purely on marks, status, place of residence, number of members studying in the family, annual income and participation in extra-curricular activities.
