1 NATCO Board Elections For the Year 2018/2019 President-Elect: Stacee Lerret, PhD, MSN, CPNP, FAAN Candidate Statement: I joined the Transplant Program at Children s Hospital of Wisconsin and have been involved in the direct care of our pediatric liver transplant patients since May of I am currently Associate Professor of Pediatrics, Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology and Transplant Surgery at the Medical College of Wisconsin and serve as the Pediatric Nurse Practitioner for the pediatric liver transplant program at Children s Hospital of Wisconsin. Recognizing the unique needs of pediatric transplant patients and families and the importance of collaboration, I became a member of NATCO in Through the offerings of NATCO, I have been able to pursue opportunities to advance my own knowledge and interact with professional colleagues throughout the country. It has been a true privilege to spend the last 16 years working in the field of transplantation. I am proud to be a member of NATCO and would consider it an honor to represent you as a President-Elect for the term. As President-Elect, I am committed to working closely with the leadership and membership to advance NATCO s mission. Qualifications: Stacee Lerret has been directly involved with transplant for 16 years and a NATCO member for 15 years. She is currently serving on the board as Secretary ( term) and as the CCTC Review Course co-program director which was launched in 2016 providing six courses to date across the United States. Stacee has served as an Annual Meeting co-chair for the 2013, 2014, and 2015 meetings. Secretary: Wendy Garrison, BSN, MBA, CPTC Candidate Statement: During my 11 years in the field of donation, I have gained a deep understanding and passion for donation and transplantation. I am grateful for the opportunity to do work I love and to serve the community in such a meaningful way. This past year I joined the NATCO Board of Directors as Member- At-Large, which was a remarkable experience. If afforded the opportunity, my goal is to remain a member of the BOD serving in the position of Secretary. I recognize the importance of sustaining the vitality of NATCO as a crucial educational component in the organ donation and transplantation community. I am excited about the prospect of participating on the Board in this new role and working with others who share the same sentiments. Qualifications: I became engaged in the OPO community in 2007 spending my first 3 years as a Procurement Coordinator with Mid-South Transplant Foundation in Memphis, TN. After only 3 years, I was promoted to Organ Recovery Manager overseeing all Procurement Coordinators and Surgical Technicians. After 4 years as a Clinical Manager at Mid-South Transplant, I moved on to a slightly larger OPO in California, Lifesharing in San Diego. Currently, I function as a Clinical Specialist developing clinical training and as the Organ and Tissue Family Services Manager. I became a member of NATCO in 2008 when I attended my first NATCO meeting. Since then I have had the pleasure of attending various NATCO meetings and events throughout my OPO career. I have served on several committees throughout my OPO career. Most recently in 2017, I was elected to the NATCO Board of Directors as a Member-At-Large. From I was one of the UNOS Regional Co- Leaders for Region 11. The primary role of this position was to work closely with the UNOS Regional Representative and organize Regional Collaborative meetings and conference calls focusing on specific educational needs. Additionally, I served as the Clinical Procurement representative on the NATCO Annual Meeting Planning Committee for 2015 and I participated in the AOPO Procurement Council Planning Committee for 2 years in facilitating development of the agenda. During my twenty-six years with NATCO, our organization has provided me with many opportunities to build relationships with other transplant professionals around the nation and in other countries. From this experience, I have garnered leadership skills that have benefited me both personally and professionally. I am honored to have served the NATCO membership as Councilor-at-Large. These past two years have provided me with professional opportunities that were both challenging and educational. Working together with other members on the Board, we have been able to resolve some of the various issues that were encountered within the transplant community, such as maintaining organizational financial stability and creating educational platforms and programs to be used in future training of the NATCO membership. I would like to continue working for the members of NATCO by motivating and initiating new opportunities, such as technological innovation in the way NATCO disseminates information to its membership, streamlining the way by which NATCO communicates and teaches its membership, and improving membership recruitment and involvement strategies. My goal is to move the organization forward by continuing to work towards our ongoing goal of creating educational offerings to the Clinical and Procurement Transplant Coordinators through science-based educational models. Also, it is important to me to be a wise and innovative steward of our resources and help maintain the financial stability necessary to meet our high standards of quality. I am ready to serve the membership of NATCO as your next Councilor-at-Large. Thank you for your support and your vote! Qualifications: Having been involved with clinical recovery of organs and tissues for 27 years and having worked as a consultant for organ procurement organizations around the United States for 12 years, I am currently a Senior Procurement Transplant Coordinator serving as a per-diem Donor Management Coordinator at Life Alliance in Miami, Florida. I also serve as a board member liaison for various projects within NATCO and

4 have served as Section Editor for the journal Progress in Transplantation since 2007, promoting research on multicultural issues. I also enjoy working with the CCTC Review Course implementation, and hope to continue that work, as well as work with the NATCO Introductory Course. Qualifications: I have been working in transplant since May I worked in the surgical ICU recovering liver, kidney/pancreas, and heart transplants before transferring to Open Heart Surgery. I started working in procurement of hearts and lungs in 2002, and worked on the recovery team for seven years. I became a lung transplant coordinator in August As a lung transplant coordinator, I work with several computer systems to maintain updated protocols and efficiency. I enjoy projects, and involve myself in as many Quality Improvement projects as I can safely

5 manage. My surgical background influences my co-workers to utilize my knowledge with surgical procedures. I work with the pre-transplant population, and education is very important to me. I worked with the staff to implement an information session for our referral patients, and a formal listing appointment for our patients approved for listing. I have also also served six years in the Ohio Army National Guard as a Medical Specialist as well as in Mortuary Affairs. I have been personally touched by donation and transplantation after my grandfather received a heart transplant in 1987 and have dedicated my career to saving and enhancing lives. It is my goal to impact the field of transplantation by forming policies and practices that encourage transplant professionals to work together for our common mission of providing quality organs to those in need. As Councilor, I hope to institute and maintain principles that enable NATCO to meet the changing needs of our transplant professionals. Through appropriate oversight, I intend to preserve the mission of this great organization. I will hold myself, as well as the other Board members, accountable to NATCO s constituents. As an experienced transplant coordinator, I am old enough to have some wisdom and young enough to do something about it. I would appreciate your vote. Qualifications: I have been in transplant for over 18 years and have not lost my passion for ICU donor management and working with bereaved families. Throughout my career I have been able to focus on what I love about transplant and stay engaged in direct patient and family care.
