1 VUSN DNP Exit Survey-Class 2017 The VUSN DNP Exit Survey was completed by 7 DNP students in The response rate to 74 invitations was 50%. Demographics Ninety-seven percent (n=4) of respondents were female. The average age was 8 years old and ranged from years of age. Eighty-five percent (n=29) identified themselves as White, not of Hispanic origin, 6% (n=2) as African American, and % (n=1 each) as Hispanic, Native American or Other. Fourteen percent (n=5) worked part time, % (n=1) varied between part and full time while in the program and none did not work at all while a student at VUSN. Thirty-two percent (n=12) stated that they started and finished the program full time. Thirty-two percent (n=12) were admitted as seamless transition students. Three quarters (75%, n=27) indicated that it took 6 semesters to complete the program. Twentytwo percent (n=8) indicated that it took 4 semesters and % (n=1) took 7 or more. 1

2 Perception of Preparedness Respondents were asked to indicate their perception of how well the DNP program prepared them to function in specific ways on a 5 point scale (not at all, somewhat, very much). Use of Technology Respondents were asked to rate the extent that technology used in the DNP program enhanced or facilitated learning on a 5 point scale (not at all, somewhat, very much).

Intensives as an Organizing Structure Respondents were asked to rate the value of the intensives as an organizing structure to the overall DNP program on a 5 point scale (not at all, somewhat, very much). % rating (n=7) Value of intensives Over three quarters of the respondents rated the intensives as an organizing structure in the highest category (78%, n=29). Program Satisfaction Students were asked to rate their satisfaction with the DNP program as a whole on a 5 item scale (Very low, Low, Moderate, High, Very high). The majority of respondents (89%, n=) rated their satisfaction as high or very high. N=7 Mean Overall Satisfaction Aspects of the Program Very Low Low Moderate High Very High Respondents were asked to rate aspects of the program on a 5 item scale (Very Poor, Poor, Adequate, Good, Excellent). If they did not use resource, they were asked to indicate NA (not applicable). The following table presents information for those students using each resource. 5

VU Financial Aid Services and Amount of Financial Aid was rated Excellent by the lowest percent of respondents who used the services (46%, n=6 and n=10 respectively). Qualitative Results The benchmarks for preparedness were met. Students were appreciative of committed and professional faculty and a supportive program. Areas for improvement included more time to spend together during intensives and a standardized turnaround time for grading assignments. 6
