14 Other options available Spanish For Spanish-speaking patients, the prescriber has the option to print their drug education material in Spanish. Click on the English link to change the language selection of the patient s drug education material. Select the language for the patient s drug education information to be printed in. The patient s preferred language was changed. notification will appear. Click OK to save the selection. Note: This language preference will remain with the patient and will not have to be changed again for future prescriptions. Please note: The InstyMeds voucher will still be printed in English. However, the patient is always able to get verbal Spanish instructions for how to use the InstyMeds dispenser by connecting to the InstyMeds Call Center via the phone on the InstyMeds dispenser. Free-Form Rx To use the InstyMeds Prescription Writer tool for all prescriptions, including chronic medications that are not available through the InstyMeds dispenser, an optional tab Free-Form Rx is available. This tab allows the prescriber to type out the drug name, sig, quantity and refills instead of choosing from a selected menu to create a printed prescription for the patient to take to a retail pharmacy. The user does have the option to remove this tab from their tool. Please speak with your Account Manager to have this option removed. 14
15 Sample InstyMeds Voucher and Drug Education Information An InstyMeds voucher contains a unique code that the patient will use at the InstyMeds dispenser. The patient will also receive their Drug Education information for every InstyMeds dispensed prescription. (Optional) For the dispensing of Schedule II Controlled Substances (C-II) only: ONLY for C-II s An additional paper will print along with the patient s voucher and drug education if the prescription order is for a C-II (i.e. Percocet). The prescriber will need to sign this. The DEA requires you to keep a copy on file of any CII dispensed. 15
16 Sample: A printed prescription to be used at a retail pharmacy The printed prescription a patient takes to a retail pharmacy if they choose that option. IMPORTANT: If you issued a prescription order to be dispensed through InstyMeds and then the patient decides to get a printed prescription to take to a pharmacy instead, contact the InstyMeds Call Center ( ) to void an InstyMeds voucher and change the order to a printed Rx. If the InstyMeds voucher is not voided, the patient may not be able to get their prescription filled at a retail pharmacy due to insurance claims. In addition, the InstyMeds dispenser has deducted that drug from its inventory list and that drug container is not available for another prescriber to prescribe until it s voided (or 48 hours passes). 16
