3 OSHA & Occupational Safety Classes Introduction to Occupational Injury and Illness Statistics Are you curious about why OSHA and the workers compensation system define injury differently? Are you confused about the meaning of DART, Frequency, Severity, or Claim Rate? This seminar explains the logic of widely used injury and illness performance indicators. Participants learn about and will be able to explain the nuances between the often confusing calculations used by many safety orientated organizations. The course also provides a brief overview of what is and isn t required to be included on an OSHA Injury and Illness Log (form 300). "We ve been using HTC for safety training for years. They seem to always have the courses we need, and have been very flexible putting out extra classes to fit our need it asap schedule. The instructors are very knowledgeable and the facility is great. What a great resource!" Dan Stephenson Safety Director Northland Concrete & Masonry Burnsville, MN Introduction to Occupational Safety & Health for Healthcare Professionals This seminar is designed to provide clinic, acute, or long-term health care facility employees with essential occupational safety and health information. The course discusses classic injury prevention methodologies and strategies. Participants are provided with healthcare specific information on the hazards, regulations, and generally accepted best practices to prevent both occupational and patient injuries and illnesses. Introduction to the Minnesota Workers Compensation System Are you concerned about high workers compensation costs? This seminar provides basic Minnesota workers compensation system information for managers, supervisors, and lead workers, and will provide useful tools for controlling workers compensation costs. Participants learn about the MN workers compensation statute, rules, and relevant court decisions. The course provides an outline of injured worker benefits, claim handling decisions, successful return-to-work strategies, and the various roles of the claim participants. Essential injury/illness investigation and documentation techniques are covered, and participants engage in a table-top accident investigation exercise. OSHA 10 and 30 Hour Classes The 10-hour class focuses on training workers, while the 30-hour class focuses on educating supervisors or employees with safety responsibilities to recognize hazards on the job and to identify proper preventative measures in both construction and general industry. Topics include: electrical safety, fall protection, material handling, hazardous materials, trench work, confined space safety, personal protective equipment (PPE), noise exposure, airborne hazards and more. WE DELIVER TRAINING Onsite Online OnCampus
4 Listen to what some of our participants have to say... Confined Space Entry and Rescue Students are taught how to properly identify a confined space and a permit-required confined space. The rules governing operation in those areas and proper safety precautions are also covered. Students practice performing entries, using monitors, donning personal protective equipment and effecting rescues. These exercises help participants to gain confidence in their equipment and their personal ability to operate in a confined space environment. "After what became a time consuming nation-wide search for knowledgeable on-site trainers to teach local units of government about public works safety issues we found Hennepin Tech College s Industrial Safety Training Program. The knowledgeable instructors show up in advance, review training room set up, provide OSHA required sign-in sheets, training outlines and certificates. End result = everyone s happy and well trained! THANKS!"
