3 COURSE DESCRIPTIONS HEALTH & SAFETY HAZWOPER Initial (40-Hour) 2018 TRAINING SCHEDULE This 40 hour HAZWOPER training course is specifically designed for workers who are involved in clean-up operations;, voluntary clean-up operations, emergency response operations; and storage, disposal, or treatment of hazardous substances or uncontrolled hazardous waste sites. This OSHA required training program covers topics included in 29 CFR such as: chemical awareness, PPE requirements, air monitoring, physical hazards and much more. $ Hr HAZWOPER Limited Site Worker $ HAZWOPER Refresher (1 Day) This course meets the requirements in OSHA 29 CFR for eight hours of annual refresher training for workers at hazardous waste sites. This course is designed for general site workers who remove hazardous waste or who are exposed or potentially exposed to hazardous substances or health hazards. Topics addressed include HAZWOPER regulations, safety and health plans, hazardous chemicals, safety hazards, air monitoring, medical surveillance, site control, decontamination, personal protective equipment, and respiratory equipment. This course covers the topics in OSHA 29 CFR $ Hr. HAZWOPER Supervisor All supervisors directly involved with site remediation operations should receive an additional eight hours of site-specific training on all the core elements of an established health and safety plan. This interactive program requires extensive participation with management as they must make their company s safety program and all applicable personal protective equipment and field equipment available. $ Hr. OSHA Construction Standard The OSHA outreach training program provides training for workers and employers on the recognition, avoidance, abatement, and prevention of safety and health hazards in workplaces. The program also provides information regarding workers' rights, employer responsibilities, and how to file a complaint. The ten hour outreach program is intended for construction workers, labors and craft personnel to assist them in understanding hazards in the work environment and provide them with general knowledge regarding avoidance, mitigation and prevention. All students will receive an OSHA outreach card mailed to them approximately two-three weeks upon successful course completion. Topics include: fall protection, electrical, struck-by, excavation, ladders, and much more depending on clients needs and programs. Note: New York State, DOL and New York City currently have laws requiring this class!

OSHA General Industry Standard The OSHA outreach training program for General Industry provides training for workers and employers on the recognition, avoidance, abatement, and prevention of safety and health hazards in workplaces in general industry. The program also provides information regarding workers' rights, employer responsibilities, and how to file a complaint. The ten hour outreach program is intended for front line staff and production personnel to assist them in understanding hazards in the work environment and provide general knowledge regarding avoidance, mitigation and prevention. Topics include: fall protection, haz-com, machine guarding, electrical and much more depending on clients needs and programs. 30-Hr. OSHA Construction Standard The OSHA outreach training programs provides training for workers and employers on the recognition, avoidance, abatement, and prevention of safety and health hazards in workplaces. The program also provides information regarding workers' rights, employer responsibilities, and how to file a complaint. The thirty hour outreach program is intended for construction managers and supervisors to assist them in understanding hazards in the work environment and provide them with general knowledge regarding avoidance, mitigation and prevention. All students will receive an OSHA outreach card mailed to them approximately two-three weeks upon successful course completion. Topics include: fall protection, electrical, struck-by, excavation, ladders and much more depending on clients needs and programs. $ Asbestos Hazard Awareness (2/4hrs) This asbestos awareness training meets the training requirements specified in the Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act (AHERA) and all of OSHA s asbestos standards for individuals that work around asbestos-containing material or presumed asbestos-containing material (ACM/PACM). The employer must provide site specific information about the presence, location and quantity of ACMs in the building(s) where employees work. Note: Additional training beyond this course is needed for individuals that contact and/or disturb ACM through such tasks as drilling, sanding, cutting, chipping or otherwise handling an ACM that is not intact. WHO SHOULD TAKE THIS CLASS? Maintenance or custodial employees that work in a building or on a ship that contains ACMs A construction manager, engineer or tradesman that works in pre-1981 buildings or buildings with known ACMs Supervisors or administrative staff that work in schools or other buildings with ACMs Property or apartment managers that own or manage pre-1981 buildings or buildings with known ACMs Current or prospective homeowners that are seeking knowledge about asbestos Anyone who wants a base knowledge about asbestos
5 Permit-Required Confined Space Entry, Supervisor (1 day) This interactive program covers all the needed topics as required by 29CFR for affected authorized entrants, attendants and entry-supervisors. Students will be provided with a comprehensive training manual with related equipment cut sheets and applicable OSHA regulations. Upon successfully demonstrating practical skills and fully attending and participating in all required classroom activities, each student will be provided with a Certification of Completion for company and student record keeping purposes. Excavation/Trenching (2 Days) This program is designed to educate the participant on all the necessary elements required to assure a safe working environment when working in and around excavation or trenching activities. Students will be educated on all the minimum safety requirements established by OSHA (Subpart P) with an emphasis on the importance and responsibilities of a Competent Person. Each student will have an opportunity to apply their knowledge by acting as a site Competent Person (classroom mock scenario) during the selection of protective measures and soil analysis. Students will be provided with a comprehensive student manual with applicable regulations, case studies and reference material. Upon successfully passing a written test (70%) and demonstrating competency with knowledge of the regulation, selection of protection methods, soil classification, equipment an d personal protection equipment, each student will receive a Certification of Completion with all required record keeping information. $ Fall Protection Classroom Only (1 Day) This one day course provides information on identifying, evaluating and preventing exposures to fall hazards at construction sites. The goal of the course is to provide small business owners, trainers, foremen and employees with information on recognizing potential fall hazards at their work sites and to suggest ways to avoid, minimize, control and prevent these hazards whenever possible. The course focuses on falls to a lower level rather than falls resulting from slips and trips. Topics include identifying fall hazards, analyzing fall hazards, and preventing fall hazards, as well as OSHA resources that address fall hazards. Classes can be customized for the general industry environment or as per company specific policies and issues. $ Lead in Construction (2/4hrs) This awareness training program is designed to help companies comply with the OSHA Lead Standards (29 CFR & ). Information presented includes (but is not limited to) PELs, TWAs, action levels, exposure assessment and air monitoring, hygiene and housekeeping, personal protective equipment, and medical surveillance. Electrical/NFPA 70E (Authorized/Qualified Persons) (4/8hrs) This training program is developed to educate the worker on all the necessary elements required to work safely on and/ or around energized equipment. Topics include: Electrical theory, situational awareness, safety equipment, hazard risk analysis, work permits, and practical evaluation. This program will be customized to meet your safety program guidelines and the equipment utilized NFPA 70E Compliant
6 The Following EPA Accredited programs are offered through a partnership with EEA. EPA, Lead RRP Initial (8hr) This one day course satisfies EPA requirements for renovators working in Target Housing and child occupied facilities. Effective April 22, 2010, EPA requires that all home improvements contractors, property management firms, handymen or others compensated for renovation that disturb more than 6 sq ft (interior) and 20 sq ft (exterior) of paint or surface coating in pre-1978 housing where a child resides or is expected to reside, complete training, use safe work practices and verify that the work area is clean after completion of renovations. Renovation firms must have at least one certified Renovator who has completed training and obtain a firm certification from the EPA. Those who have already completed lead safe work practices or abatement supervisor or worker certification can attend a half-day refresher. Please note that those who are abatement certified, as supervisors or workers, and/or firm certified must still attend training. The course has 5-year expiration. EPA, Lead RRP Refresher (4 hr) This half day course satisfies EPA requirements for certified renovators working in Target Housing, as a required training refresher upon 5 year expiration. Effective April 22, 2010, EPA requires that all home improvements contractors, property management firms, handymen or other compensated for renovation that disturb more than 6 sq ft (interior) and 20 sq ft (exterior) of paint or surface coating in pre-1978 housing where a child resides or is expected to reside, complete training, use safe work practices and verify that the work area is clean after completion of renovations. EPA, Lead Abatement Worker Initial (16hr) This two day course is required for those who work on abatement projects in both residential and commercial locations. Course includes work area preparation, medical monitoring, regulatory requirements and hands-on training. Additional topics are health effects, recognition of lead paint hazards, abatement methods, OSHA health and safety, respiratory protection, licensing and certification requirements, cost estimating and legal and insurance issues. 7 Pre-registration required for all classes. Classes subject to change or cancellation without notice. Training schedule located at COURSE POLICIES 1) All courses require pre-registration and pre-payment. Course registration can be made in person, or by telephone. 2) All courses have limited enrollment. Please register as early as possible to ensure your place in our classes. Pre-payment is non-refundable. Should you need to change your registration to another class will require 72 hours notice of change. You will be charged for all students registered unless 72 hours notice is received by CHA. 3) The course tuition fee includes classroom materials and completion certificates. Tuition fee is due in full at the beginning of the course. CHA accepts business checks or money orders made payable to CHA Consulting, Inc. Visa, MasterCard and Discover Card. No personal checks or cash accepted. A surcharge of 4% will be applied to any credit card orders over $2, ) ALL open-enrollment courses are subject to minimum class size. Pre-registration does not ensure a course will be held on the date scheduled. Students pre-registered for open enrollment courses will be notified as soon as possible prior to course start date of any cancellation or postponement due to low registration. Students will have the option of re-registering for a later date, or canceling their registration without penalty. CHA will not be held responsible for any delay or loss due to course changes or cancellations. 5) Student attendance for the entire course is required. If a student cannot attend the entire course, the student will be responsible to make up missed time at a later date, and within ten (10) calendar days of the start date of the course. Student must contact CHA to schedule the makeup time. Additional costs will also apply, which the student will be responsible for. CHA cannot guarantee that make-up time classes will be available. 6) Most training courses will be held 8:00am to 4:00pm. Please verify with the Training Registrar at the time of registration.
