2 Hospital Closure Question 1 Your local Health Authority has sent a letter advising you that your local general hospital, which has been there for 125 years, will be closing down. The hospital is used by the local community for accidents and emergencies, maternity services and other routine appointments. The next nearest hospital is 27 miles away. The Health Authority is asking local residents to write a letter to them if they have any objections to the plans. Write a letter to the Health Authority objecting to the plans to close the hospital. Include detail about: (24 marks) the history of the hospital the loss of a major community service access by local residents the distance to nearest hospitals.
