4 Quality Care A commitment to quality care in all our services and facilities Healthe Care hospitals are fully accredited by the Australian Council for Healthecare Standards (ACHS). Since 1 January 2013, our hospitals have been accredited against the ten National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards (NSQHS) established by the Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Healthcare (ACSQHC). As such, there is no industry accreditation benchmark. Prior to the introduction of the NSQHS Standards in 2011 and 2012 Healthe Care hospitals achieved a significant number of EA (extensive achievement) ratings under the ACHS EQuIP 5 Program. Our commitment to evaluate and improve the quality of care and performance of our services means that Healthe Care voluntarily seeks to be measured against these professional standards. This demonstrates to our patients, clients, visiting medical officers and to our community that we maintain high professional standards for quality patient/client care. Our team also works with national bodies in the development of programs covering both the public and private hospital sectors including: Hand Hygiene Australia National Inpatient Medication Chart (NIMC) Pressure Ulcer Prevention Program Falls Prevention Program Blood / Blood Products Management The Infection Control Program Coming soon In 2016 Healthe Care is excited to be introducing a new Quality of Care magazine that will be distributed across all of our hospital communities. 4

5 Our Structure Group Structure Healthe Care is a privately owned company, established in Australia in 2005, comprising Healthe Care and Community Care nursing services. The entities exist as separate businesses units operating within the Healthe Care structure to deliver premium care to both in-patients and out-patients. Services include workplace rehabilitation and community nursing. Healthe Care s head office is located in the Sydney CBD. Healthe Care was acquired by Luye Medical in April Board of Directors in Australia Steve Atkins - Chief Executive Officer Steve is the Chief Executive Officer and a Director of Healthe Care Australia. He joined as COO at Healthe Care s formation in 2005 and was appointed CEO in Steve has 20+ years healthcare experience. Gordon Ford - Chief Financial Officer Gordon joined Healthe Care as the Chief Financial Officer in Gordon has 20+ years CFO experience across the healthcare, insurance and medical devices industries. Geoff Sam, OAM - Executive Director Geoff has over 35 years experience in the Australian health sector. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting and Finance) MHA and MA (Econ and Soc Studies) and FAICD. He has been CEO and MD of a Listed Hospital group, as well as for profit and not for profit hospital groups. He has been President of the Australian Private Hospitals Association and was awarded an Order of Australia for services to healthcare. 5

12 Healthe Care Building facilities with a vision for the future Brunswick Private Hospital (Vic) Healthe Care s expertise across the private hospital sector means that its facilities are being designed with a vision to support the changing needs of health care well into the future. The Group has adopted a multidisciplinary approach to health care offering a range of inpatient, outpatient and community based health care services while redeveloping its facilities to sustain this approach. Healthe Care has committed significant funds to redevelopment projects across our hospitals, including Gosford Private Hospital, Belmont Private Hospital, Currumbin Clinic, Maitland Private Hospital, Lingard Private Hospital, Toronto Private Hospital, The Valley Private Hospital, South Eastern Private Hospital and Hurstville Private Hospital, increasing bed capacity, theatres, medical consulting suites, parking and improving unit facilities. The Group has undertaken extensive refurbishment of patient accommodation and added additional services including a cardiac unit at Gosford Private Hospital. A comprehensive $34 million redevelopment transforming Hurstville Private Hospital into a state of the art facility is nearing completion, and extensive redevelopment work is being undertaken at our Marian Centre facility in Perth. 30 Community Care Services Healthe Care s Community Care Services include both Hunter Nursing and Mayo Home Nursing, providing 24/7 home nursing and domestic assistance. The businesses provide quality home nursing and domestic services to clients in the comfort of their own home. Our qualified nurses work with clients, patients, families and medical personnel to develop tailored care plans that can be scheduled up to 24 hours, 7 days a week. As an outpatient service, these businesses allow medical practitioners to continue their patient s care in familiar surroundings. Care programs are customised and periodically reviewed to assist a range of clients including the elderly, veterans, people with disabilities, terminal illnesses and those recovering from surgical procedures. Our focus is to provide ongoing support to our patients and improve health care. Through preventative programs and continuum of care, patients can continue to live independently in the community. Our Community Care Services are located in: Toronto, Taree, Port Macquarie, Tuncurry. Community Care services include: Acquired brain injury care General Nursing care Assistance with daily living Aged care Disability care (NDIS approved provider) Palliative care Personal care Wound care Medication supervision and administration Companionship and social support In addition to nursing care, we provide a range of services to assist patients in the home. These include: Respite care and temporary relief for carers Domestic assistance such as household cleaning, ironing, shopping and paying bills. Support including meal preparation and transport General household maintenance While our focus is caring for patients, we also recognise the difficulty in finding qualified and experienced nursing staff at short notice.
