3 MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT AND SECRETARY IAPSM-GC It gives us a great pleasure to announce the first ever Placement brochure from the Gujarat Chapter of the IAPSM. The young and budding experts of community medicine are often bewildered regarding the future prospects and opportunities after pursuing their postgraduation. This brochure will provide them with a tremendous platform to reach out to the world outside the academics, where organizations and agencies are keen to hire young and dynamic public health experts who can be an asset to their institutions and provide them the right path towards future development. After going through the profiles, we can definitely assure the agencies and organizations that not only are the candidates extremely talented with unique competencies needed to flourish but also, they have the quest and the inner burning desire to prove to the world their potential. It is quite satisfying to note that so many of these candidates have diverse areas of expertise in which they have been either trained or they have already worked. We will wish them the best for their future endeavours and also suggest them to keep the quest towards excellence going. With best wishes for all the successes to come in future!! Dr. (Prof.) Dileep Mavlankar, President, IAPSM-GC Dr. (Prof.) A.M. Kadri, Secretary, IAPSM-GC MESSAGE FROM CO-ORDINATOR OF PLACEMENT BROCHURE As it is very rightly said by one of the all-time greatest boxers and most significant and celebrated sports figures of 20 th Century Mr. Muhammad Ali, A man who has no imagination has no wings I will affirmatively insist to all my budding MD (PSM) colleagues to have the wings and fly too!! And fly in a way that the world can be conquered!! As a newly passed out MD (PSM), I had a wish to work in different genres and sub-specialities of public health/community medicine, some of which did get satisfied but some did not! However, what I did learn is that passion and hard work are irreplaceable and those having both can surely be the best! This placement brochure, the first of its kind has been specially designed by the Gujarat Chapter of the IAPSM to ensure and provide a platform to all the recently passed out residents to display their skills and competencies and encourage recruiters to hire them for best available positions in the vast field of public health.
