5 Activities of Time and Frequency Establishment of the time and frequency standards as the national time standards. Publish the National time regulation. Estabilish the time dissemination by Network Time Protocol (NTP) to Government institutes,media, telecommunication companies and general public. Web page( for time dissemination.

6 Future Plans 2012 Plan for radio time code transmission system. Purchasing new equipments for time dissemination and time and frequency calibration. Promoting research activities on time and frequency. Awareness programs through National level exhibitions.

10 Demonstration of Complaisance to CIPM MRA Compliance was decide to demonstrated through pathway (a) according to the CIPM MRA; (a) Third party accreditation (technical assessors must meet criteria given for technical peers) (b) Certification to ISO 9001:2008 and attestation by technical peers, or (c) Attestation by a team consisting of quality system experts and technical peers. This may be organised by the NMI or another recognised body, such as an accreditation body or APLAC. MUSSD has applied for accreditation from SLAB (Sri Lanka Accreditation Board )

13 Proposed New MUSSD Building Complex with Instrumentation and Personnel Consultancy: Mr. A.Vellingiri, PTB, Germany Location : near the city Homagama, about 20 km away from the Colombo City Total Estimated cost: 2000 Million Rupees (Approx: 190 Million USD) Current Statues : Prepared the BOQ based on the service drawings and tender dossier and relevant documents during the last visit of Metrology consultant in October Planned to complete the laboratory area within 1.5 years Whole project planed to complete in 3 years.
