I hope to serve you well. Please join me in welcoming the other members of the REVMA Board of Directors. Dr. Racelle LaMar enthusiastically steps into the office of Vice President and brings years of experience in Sonoma County as a general practitioner, emergency clinician, and practice owner (Northtown Animal Hospital). Dr. Leah Hertzel continues in her role as Treasurer, though she has indicated this will be her last year serving in that position. Leah has done an exemplary job keeping REVMA s bottom line under control, likely facilitated by her years of experience as owner of The Cat Hospital of Petaluma. And finally we have a CE coordinator ~ Dr. Lisa Alexander, as you all know is one of our fine surgeons at VCA Animal Care Center and takes on the daunting task of organizing an enjoyable and informative program for the year. Lisa s role is very important as most of you have identified CE as the most valuable role REVMA fills for you. Lastly, kudos would not be complete without acknowledging Tiffany Rovai for her tireless efforts in ing, scheduling, calling, printing, faxing, etc, etc, all the myriad of things necessary to keep an organization of this size under control and focused. Let me also take a moment to express appreciation on behalf of the entire organization to Dr. Jona Jordan for her past efforts in fulfilling the office of President. By the time you read this, hopefully most of you will have already attended Dr. Lavely s presentation on anticonvulsant therapy. I m confident his presentation was of the usual informative and enjoyable high caliber, and I hope you all had a good time. I apologize for my absence, but a family emergency has limited my availability for the past couple of weeks. As you can see from the following list of upcoming CE meetings I believe we have a good program this year. You will also notice there are still several empty slots, and if you have any suggestions, please contact Dr. Alexander at VCA ACC. February 20th - Need a Fix for that Fit? Anticonvulsant Therapy by Dr. James Lavely March 20th - Atopic Dermatitis sponsored by Elanco April 17th - Topic TBD by Dr. Nicole Eckholm sponsored by Petcare May 15th - OPEN ~ hopefully pharmaceutical compounding June 19th - Ophthalmology by Dr. Rebecca Burwell July 17th - Emerging Diseases by Dr. Jona Mazet from UCD August 21st - Oncology by Dr. Kelly Carlsten sponsored by Petcare September 18th - Canine Cushing s by Dr. David Bruyette (VCA West LA) sponsored by Dechra October 19 - Annual Meeting ~ Dr. David Twedt from CSU November 20th - Will likely be sponsored by VCA ACC, topic TBD December - No meeting. Merry Christmas to all 2014 Membership Form CVMA Update Pet Loss Support Group Classifieds Upcoming Continuing Education Over the next year, I would like you to think about the role you see REVMA as serving, as well as the ways you might see yourself serving REVMA and hence, our community. We ll talk about that more in the future. Respectfully, Michael L. Magne, DVM, MS, DACVIM REVMA Board President
