2 Attendance Policy Classroom expectations for students Students are responsible for following school policy on attendance. Students must attend 90% of their class. Students who miss 10% of their class must meet with their instructor before attending the next class session. Students who miss more than 10% of their classes will be dropped from the class, forfeit all equipment fees, and must have written approval from the Director of Admissions to re-enroll. The tuition will be refunded in accordance with the refund policy in the catalog. Student Tardiness Policy A student is considered tardy/late if he/she comes to class five minutes late. With three tardies the student accumulates one full absence. If the student misses half of the class period, it is a full absence. When a student has more than 3 tardies, the instructor will contact the Director of Education and request an intervention session with the student. The goal of the intervention session is to develop and implement an intervention program to help students learn new ways to save and manage time. NOTE: Plagiarism is defined as the use, without proper acknowledgment, of the ideas, phrases, sentences, or larger units of discourse from another writer or speaker. Course Description PN121-NCLEX-PN and Employment Prep Description: The purpose of this course and laboratory hours is to prepare the student practical nurse for the NCLEX-PN examination and employment in the nursing field. The student will have these last several weeks to spend integrating the material taught throughout the program in order to successfully pass the NCLEX examination and be prepared to be able to provide safe and effective care within the scope and practice of a new practical nurse. The student and the instructors of the program will work closely to assess the strengths and weaknesses of each student in order to direct the individual for further learning as necessary. The student will have the opportunity to research the setting in which he/she would like to gain employment, the opportunities in the community, and alternate employment options. The student will develop a resume and be taught the state requirements necessary to maintain licensure in this state and understanding reciprocity regulations. The student will be taught interviewing techniques and have the opportunity to practice in the classroom in a mock interview session. The student will be encouraged to think of future 2 P a g e

Apply critical thinking and problem solving to priortize and organize care of patients with common healthcare needs using testing skills. 9.
