2 Profile INDUS AFRICA, was founded in 2009, being based in Newcastle, South Africa. The realization of a significant need for affordable healthcare and hospital solutions for the majority population in Africa who are not medically insured, and depend on Public Health Services, led to the conceptualization of this dynamic project. Indus Africa with its group company Indus Healthcare-Botswana, strives to be a significant contributor towards, equity and inclusiveness in access to specialist health services. This is the guiding principle at the heart of all our services and offerings. Started by organizing affordable medical and surgical treatment for Africans at Hospitals in India, we now reversed the model to offer services not just in India but within Africa. We partner with stake-holders in African country and offer specialist services where they are needed and adapted to the needs of the people. We offer consultancy to assist healthcare systems and hospitals to deliver specialist clinical services. 3 BIG ENOUGH TO DELIVER; SMALL ENOUGH TO CARE INDUS HEALTHCARE, BOTSWANA We are Operational in Botswana, as a provider of urgent referral clinical services, since Over two thousand major surgical procedures were organized at Rural Botswana Hospital to cater to an urgent women public health situation. Indus Healthcare is currently offering specialist services across 7 hospitals with combined bed strength of over 2000 beds. The specialties being covered include Mother & Child Care; Obstetrics & Gynecology, Pediatrics, Neonatology. General Surgery, minimally invasive and Laparoscopic Surgery, Anesthesiology & Critical Care medicine, Ophthalmology/Eye Care Services, Cardiology, Neurology, Orthopedics & Trauma Services, Pediatric Orthopedics, Spinal Surgery etc.

4 Major Accomplishments Indus Healthcare, Botswana specializes in assisting health systems address the needs for referral clinical services. Establishes systems that eliminate patient waiting lists and meet urgent clinical service requirements which often require quick rollout on a national scale. work includes Women health and HIV/AIDS related malignancies. This epidemiological fact is in keeping with higher incidence of HIV in this part of world Consistent provision of internationally benchmarked clinical outcomes statistics has been achieved in Botswana operations. Teams of dedicated and motivated health service professionals work in tandem. In the process there is skills sharing and training of the local staff - on the job, in periodic teaching and C.M.E (Continued Medical Education) sessions. The systems also aim to impart self-reliance in Hospital referral services to all the clients serviced by us. Indus - Ministry of Health Gynae Cancer Backlog Project- (August 2011 To December 2012) Follow Up continues. At the Sekgoma Memorial Hospital - Serowe, a 250 bedded hospital in rural Africa, our clinical teams have attended to over 2000 patients, majority of them requiring tertiary clinical care. 6 Arthroplasty Services in Rural Botswana Mahalapye District Hospital is a District Hospital about 270 Km from capital Gaborone on the A1 national highway. Arthroplasty or Joint-Replacement Surgery is sophisticated surgery which is a challenge for any Hospital to conduct. Mahalype District Hospital was chosen to take up this challenge by Ministry of Health. Most Team members of Indus Botswana and necessary staff in India involved in this project. Separate team for preparing MDH for this session were formed. The Teams included: Hospital Theater Preparedness Team. Post-Op Preparedness Team, Critical Clinical Supplies Unit- Indus India, CMS & Biomedical Dept Follow-Up, Travel and Lodging, Support team from Department of Orthopedics Princess Marina Hospital. In a Public Private partnership mode with the Senior Management of the Hospital, a plan was chalked and a date finalized. In a multi-faceted effort with a month of preprations,15 Arthroplasty Surgeries were performed over 3 days from 9th to 11th of July, before theater staff was relieved for the long weekend.

8 Dr Navtej Singh, MBBS; DMRD; DHE (UCT), Specialist Radiologist and Health Economist, is the Director of all Medical Affairs at Indus. He is instrumental in bringing many innovative ideas into the medical functioning for the institutions under Indus Healthcare. An MBBS degree holder from Mumbai University and a Specialist Radiologist from Himalayan Institute of Medical Sciences of the HNB Garhwal University, Uttaranchal, he received Post-Graduate training in Health Economics from University of Cape Town, South Africa. Dr Navtej feels the pulse of the medical care required with great expertise. His wide vision and strategic planning keeps the medical care in the hospital updated and in sync with the latest medical service standards and latest technology. His humble and respectful attitude enables him to carry his team along in a very cohesive and positive manner. AFRICA TEAM: KEY GROUP Dr Ramandeep Singh, BDS (BVP), Eminent Dentist, Director and Chief Financial Officer, is a dynamic young doctor with a futuristic vision few of his contemporaries can boast of. He did his BDS in 2001 from Bhartiya Vidyapeeth, Pune followed by management training. His positive and mild demeanor belies his strong willed and mature outlook. Known for his hard-work and relentless pursuit for excellence, Dr Ramandeep Singh was recently nominated as one of the 50 Pathfinders in Healthcare by the famous Express Healthcare Magazine. He was also the youngest at 31 Years of age and the only one from North India on that list. He is a modest person, but his dreams for the future of Indus Hospitals are anything but modest.

She thrives in the international working environment due to her holding a Dual Citizenship of South Africa and India (Over Citizen of India). Her commitment is to bring accessible Specialist Healthcare Services and employable Skills training to Africans. She has offices in Indus Healthcare Headquarters in India and in Indus Africa Office in Newcastle, 98, Harding Street, Kwazulu Natal, South Africa. Dr Kavita Sant, MBBS is equipped with 40 years of experience behind her. The Managing Director, Indus Hospitals she is the gentle yet strong force behind Indus. She did her MBBS from Government Medical College, Rohtak in She has had a vast and checkered work experience - from working at Safdarjang Hospital, New Delhi to working as a Senior Medical Officer in the Punjab Civil Medical Services (PCMS). After her 25 years of service in the PCMS, she worked relentlessly and earned a great name for herself and her home venture, Jiwan Nursing Home, Jalalabad. The faith her patients have in her can be seen from the fact that most of them still come to her at Mohali - all the way from Jalalabad. Her dedication towards her work and patients is obvious from her working style within Indus Hospitals.

To specifically target improvement of the WHO (World Health Organization) health indicators like MATERNAL MORTALITY RATEs (MMR), INFANT MORTALITY RATE (IFR), UNDER-5 MORTALITY RATE. In whatever Geography and institution we operate in we would aim to bring the maternal mortality Rate and Infant Mortality Rate down in defined percentages To work with International and Local NGO; and For-Profit, Not-for-Profit health stakeholders to being about transformational change in the health care delivery systems in the developing African jurisdictions. To alleviate suffering through provision of critical medical services in developing countries via the sustainable model of a for-profit organization. To make quality clinical care accessible to patients with HIV and AIDS and promote equity in provision of clinical services to this cohort of patients without discrimination. To bring down the traditionally high cost of Quality medicines and pharmaceuticals with the aim of making them affordable for the African countries. This in turn would have a cascading effect of bringing down the cost of healthcare for the masses. This is accomplished via keeping reasonable margins and thus a financially sustainable model resulting in a win-win situation.

17 To recruit skills in healthcare from abroad for provision of services in healthcare, and education sector in Botswana and other African countries with poor medical services and poor higher educational services. The health professionals including Nurses, doctors, Pharmacists may be recruited through open international recruitment from countries like India, Philippines, Brazil etc. The recruitment from all countries outside of Africa shall be on contractual basis with the aim of using these skills to train local professionals, so that in due course self-reliance of Botswana is achieved in fields of medical and professional-education. Explore opportunities in the PPP (Public Private Partnership) model or operating Tertiary Care Services in Hospitals or Managing the whole Hospital in totality for public sector stakeholders or NGO to help achieve the Nations Health Development Goals.
