GRAMMAR REVIEW: Topic: Past Perfect Progressive (5-6 minutes) General Description: The Past Perfect Progressive is used for actions that were unfinished when another action took place: I had been resting in my room for four hours when the nurse checked my health status. The Past Perfect Progressive is also called the Past Perfect Continuous. Pattern: HAD + BEEN + ING of the word (present participle) Remember: We use the Past Perfect Continuous to show that something started in the past and continued up until another time in the past. Examples: You had been waiting there for more than two hours when the doctors finally arrived. She had been working at that hospital for three years when it went out of business. I had been recovering from my injury when my boss asked me to go to work.
