6 Board Recertification Live Intensive Study and BCOP Clinical Session Packages Back by popular demand, these sessions will be held live throughout the Midyear meeting, and any meeting registrant may attend these thought-provoking and highly clinical educational sessions. However, if you are board-certified, you must purchase the package(s) for your specialty in order to receive the recertification assessment and to claim the recertification credit. Intensive Study recertification packages are available to full Midyear registrants for only $50. Pediatric Pharmacy Intensive Studies Package (4 hours of recertification credit) Pharmacotherapy Intensive Studies Package (6 hours of recertification credit) BCOP Clinical Sessions (4 hours of recertification credit) BCOP recertification activities are developed in partnership with the American College of Clinical Pharmacy (ACCP). Please note that the BCOP Clinical Sessions are a repeat of the sessions presented in October 2017 at the ACCP Annual Meeting. Learners may claim credit only once. BCOP Clinical Sessions, while named differently, follow the same format as the Live Intensive Studies. If you are currently enrolled in a 3-Year Recertification Plan or the Resident Reward and Recertification Program, the Intensive Study Package is already included as part of your enrollment. You must be a full Midyear Clinical Meeting registrant and pay a separate fee to attend pre-meeting workshops. Registration fees for full-day workshops include lunch and refreshments during breaks. Enrollment is limited, and workshops fill quickly, so register soon. Registration must be received on or before November 30. Saturday, December 2 Residency Program Design and Conduct (RPDC) Time: 8:00 a.m. 5:00 p.m. Workshop Fee: $370 (Lunch and break included) Note: CE credit will not be offered for this workshop. In this workshop, attendees will review accreditation standards for the design and conduct of a residency program, including requirements related to program purpose, competency areas, goals and objectives, program structure, learning experiences, orientation, use of preceptor roles, evaluation, resident development plans, and continuous residency program improvement. Attendees may bring materials from their program for review during the workshop. Take advantage of the opportunity to get your questions answered and share ideas for meeting accreditation requirements. Sunday, December 3 Basic Statistics: A Nonthreatening Approach to the Use of Statistics in Clinical Trials 2017 Time: 8:00 a.m. 5:00 p.m. Workshop Fee: $370 (Lunch and break included; limit: 40 participants) Learn how to apply basic statistical tests to research reports typically seen in medical literature. This workshop explores the most commonly used tests, including t-tests, analysis of variance, tests for equivalence, Z-test of proportions, odds ratios and relative risk ratios, chi-square, correlation, and linear regression. Practical examples and problems drawn from scientific research will be used to illustrate statistical concepts and mathematical procedures. Emphasis is on the appropriate use of statistics and the interpretation of their results. MONDAY, DECEMBER 4 OPENING SESSION: A Conversation with former First Lady Michelle Obama Michelle Robinson Obama served as First Lady of the United States from 2009 to 2017, transforming the position and becoming a role model, champion, and inspiration for women, families, and young people across America and around the world. As First Lady, Mrs. Obama launched and led four key initiatives: Let s Move! brought together community leaders, educators, medical professionals, parents, celebrities, and others in a nationwide effort to address the challenge of childhood obesity. Joining Forces, which she launched with Dr. Jill Biden, called on all Americans to rally around service members, veterans, and their families and support them through wellness, education, and employment opportunities. Reach Higher aimed to inspire young people across America to take charge of their future by completing their education past high school, whether at a professional training program, a community college, or a four-year college or university. Let Girls Learn focused on helping adolescent girls around the world go to school. ASHP is honored to offer our Midyear attendees the opportunity to hear Mrs. Obama share her experiences as a public figure and role model in relation to the many initiatives that she started while serving as First Lady. 9
