ABDUL HAKEEM BALOCH MNA Mr. Hakeem Baloch - MNA visited MMI Hospital on Tuesday 18th July, The purpose of his visit was to attend a meeting with the MMI Hospital management and the Doctors to discuss the Hepatitis C Camp and its outcome. He greatly appreciated the hospital s team for their extraordinary management of the camp and to facilitate the patients with commitment and professionalism, especially Marketing Department and Dr. Shoaib Siddique. During the meeting, it was decided to arrange more camps of Hepatitis C.

2 SINDH CHIEF MINISTER SYED MURAD ALI SHAH VISITED MMI HOSPITAL Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah visited Memon Medical Institute Hospital, accompanied by Minister of Health Dr. Sikandar Mandhro on July 10th, He was welcomed by Mr. Peer Muhammad Diwan, Founder Honorary Chairman of MHEF, Mr. M. Shabbir Kassim Honorary Chairman of MHEF, Mr. Abdul Razak Diwan, Mr. Ajaz Saya, Mr. Shabbir Diwan Honorary Trustees and other hospital officials. Syed Murad Ali Shah visited different departments and was briefed by leading consultants about the different facilities of the hospital. He also met different Patients and spent time with them. He was extremely delighted by the facilities provided by MMI Hospital. During his address on the occasion, he said, It has been a pleasure to be at a great institution Memon Medical Institute Hospital and see excellent work being done for the poor communities. We are delighted to see the facilities and have supported MMIH for their remarkable contributions for the people of Sindh. During the meeting, Dr. Rizwan Azami Chief Executive Officer briefed about the facilities of the institution and the projects which are initiated to serve the general public, including Hepatitis C Program, Polio, Plastic Surgery Camp and others. Mr. Abdul Hakeem Baloch, MNA also shared his experience of MMIH Hepatitis C camp in District Malir and greatly appreciated the remarkable contribution of MMI Hospital for the patients based in his constitutional jurisdiction. The meeting was also attended by Mr. Raheem Baloch, trustees of MHEF and hospital management.

3 SEMINAR ON HEPATITIS MMI Hospital has initiated several programs in the issue of Hepatitis C to persuade common people to take proactive approach to Hepatitis. In continuation of this commitment, MMI Hospital organized a World Hepatitis Day seminar on 28th July 2017 to raise awareness and influence for real change. Dr. M. Shoaib Siddique, a renowned Gastroenterologist delivered a very useful presentation on Hepatitis C causes, prevention and its treatment. He explained about the causes and shared his experiences with the patients effected by this disease. He also shared that this disease is a big threat to the nation and we must take immediate measures in order to address this national challenge. This session was attended by Dr. Mansoor ul Haque, a senior and renowned Gastroenterologist and Dr. Rizwan Azami - CEO MMI Hospital. A shield was presented by Dr. Rizwan Azami to Dr. M. Shoaib Siddique for his useful presentation. 14 TH AUGUST - INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION Memon Medical Institute Hospital celebrated Independence Day on 14th August 2017 with full enthusiasm. On this occasion, a flag hoisted ceremony was held. An official get together was specially arranged in which MMIH management and staff members stands and sang Pakistan s national anthem. A cake cutting ceremony was also organized in the peadiatric department in order to share the Independence Day happiness with the younger ones and to provide moments of rejoice for the patients of paeds ward.

4 HEPATITIS C SCREENING CAMP MMI Hospital had arranged a Hepatitis C screening camp in Gadap Town on August 19th and August 26th, 2017 with the support of Mr. Hakeem Baloch (MNA) and Mr. Raheem Baloch (care taker of the village). Hilton Pharma supported with the screening facility. Dr. Mohammad Shoaib Siddiqui, Gastroenterologist from MMI Hospital, also accompanied the camp and had an awareness session for general public on prevention and cure of Hepatitis C. After the session, a question answer session was arranged in which he replied to all the issues of the public about the disease and its prevention. The purpose of the camp was to screen the village people for Hepatitis C and provide full treatment to those who diagnose with Hepatitis C disease. We have screened over 1400 people in both the days including males and females from various age groups. The cost of the treatment is going to be supported by MMI Hospital, Dhoraji Youth Services Foundation, All Pakistan Memon Federation and Mr. Rahim Baloch. Hilton Pharma also played a vital role by supporting the screening camp and also provided the Hepatitis C medicines on subsidized rates. DAWN SUPPLEMENT To engage more people in the celebration of World Heart Day and to create awareness about cardiac diseases, we have launched a special supplement in daily dawn. The supplement covered the messages from Mr. Muhammad Shabbir Kassim Honorary Chairman MHEF, Dr. Rizwan Azami CEO, MMI Hospital, and Prof. Khan Shah Zaman Director, Cardiovascular Services MMIH and an article on Cardiovascular Disease and its Preventable. 5 PREVENTION & MANAGEMENT OF COMMON CARDIAC DISEASES WORLD HEART DAY SEMINAR On 20th September, 2017 World Heart Day Seminar was organized in MMI Hospital on the topic of Prevention & Management of Common Cardiac Diseases. Dr. Tariq Farman DUHS and Prof. Najma Patel NICVD were the chief guests of the event. During the seminar, Dr. Tariq Farman DUHS, presented on The Management of Coronary Heart Diseases, Dr. Nadeen Siddiqui Chairman Department of Medicine, MMIH explained on Management of Hypertension, Prof. Najma Patel NICVD explained the Percutaneous Management of Congenital Cardiac Anomalies in Children, Prof. Khan Shah Zaman Director Cardiovascular Services, MMIH discuss the topic of Prevention is better than Cure and Dr. Rizwan Azami CEO, MMIH gave his concluding remarks at the end of the seminar. The seminar was attended by large numbers of healthcare professionals including cardiac surgeons, cardiologists and many others. At the closing of the event, Shields were presented by Dr. Rizwan Azami CEO, MMIH to the honorable guest speakers Dr. Tariq Farman DUHS, Prof. Najma Patel NICVD, Dr. Nadeen Siddiqui Chairman Dept. of Medicine MMIH, and Prof. Khan Shah Zaman Director Cardiovascular Services - MMIH and to the senior management of the event sponsor, PharmEvo (Pvt.) Ltd. WORLD HEART DAY WALK MMI Hospital launched a massive public awareness campaign to celebrate World Heart Day by organizing a Walk on 22th September, 2017 with the collaboration of PharmEvo (Pvt.) Ltd. The objective of the walk was to raise awareness about the growing cardiac diseases among the general public, in particular our young generation. The Former Cricketer and Captain of Pakistan s Cricket Team, Mr. Moin Khan, students from schools, colleges and the hospital s staff members participated in the Walk. A presentation was delivered on Diet and Healthy Lifestyle by Dr. Rizwan Azami (CEO) - MMIH and Dr. Maryam Nauman MMIH to create awareness on healthy life. The country s renowned TV channels and media groups captured the event and appreciated the efforts of MMI Hospital in raising voice against growing cardiac diseases.

6 EID MILAN PARTY MMI Hospital celebrates Eid Milan Party on 8th September, 2017 to enjoy the spirit of Eid with its staff members. On this occasion of happiness and friendship, all MMI Hospital senior and junior staff member gathered to shared the happiness of Eid-ul-Adha.
