1 Florida Department of Cardiology Opportunity for Support
2 Together We Can Make A Difference Cardiovascular disease has been the number one killer in the United States for the last 100 years, equally affecting women and men. Heart patients spend more than 30 million days each year in the hospital far more than patients with other diagnoses. Supporting advancements in cardiology is crucial right now, as the disease burden grows along with our aging population. America s 76 million Baby Boomers have already begun turning 65, entering the age range most at risk for all forms of cardiovascular disease. And, Florida is home to more seniors than any other state in the nation. Cleveland Clinic Florida has a higher rate of survival and a lower risk of complications in heart surgery than other hospitals in the region. Cleveland Clinic Florida is committed to conquering heart disease patient by patient; cure after cure. But we need your help to accomplish this extraordinary task. We want more people to enjoy years of health and vigor, without the effects of heart disease and the chronic conditions that accompany it.
3 A Recognized Leader As part of the Cleveland Clinic health system, Cleveland Clinic Florida provides outstanding patient care based on the principles of cooperation, compassion and innovation. Building on our well-established reputation in Cleveland, which has ranked No. 1 in the nation for cardiac care by U.S.News & World Report every year since 1995, the esteemed physicians in Weston and West Palm Beach are among the top specialists in their fields. The Heart Team at Cleveland Clinic Florida Cleveland Clinic Florida > Named one of the nation s 50 Top Hospitals for cardiovascular care by Thomson Reuters. > Recognized at the Gold Level by the American Heart Association for performance in all three categories of the Get With The Guidelines SM program: Coronary Artery Disease, Heart Failure and Stroke.
4 Where Empathy Meets Innovation Philanthropic support is essential to our guiding principle: Patients First. Physician recruitment. Endowed chair gifts help attract and retain top-quality physicians with the high-level skills and expertise needed to serve patients with complex medical problems. Innovative medical education. Training physicians, nurses and other healthcare practitioners in the latest, most effective techniques improves patient care and keeps standards high. Cleveland Clinic Florida is the only medical center in Palm Beach and Broward Counties certified by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education. Leading-edge technology and renovation projects. Environmentally sound construction techniques and well-designed patient treatment areas contribute to patients healing and recovery. New diagnostic tools and advances in minimally invasive and robotic surgical techniques increase accuracy and efficiency, shorten recovery time and improve treatment results. Wellness and prevention. Screening programs, databases and registries help identify potential health issues early for individuals and their families, leading to better diagnosis, prevention and treatment. Educational programs encourage healthy eating, smoking cessation and exercises, which helps curtail or prevent a host of diseases. Your gift will affect more than an organization it will transform the future of healthcare. By opening doors for physicians, researchers and students, we can open a world of possibilities for patients.
