13 What makes a good vacancy Attractive vacancies: Written clearly without jargon or techno-babble Demonstrate progression and career opportunities at end of apprenticeship Offer a fair salary Have an interesting and engaging job advert Have realistic requirements regarding experience and prior education qualifications Name a good, recognised employer!

14 Top tips to recruit your Apprentice! Be flexible at the sift! Don t expect vast work experience history they are young! For many young people this will be their first application give them the benefit of the doubt! Consider task based interviews rather than experience or competency based Do you really need an assessment centre? This may put off more candidates than it attracts from some age groups. Be willing to support your candidates through the process, text them the night before, send them info on what to expect. Remember the key things young people are looking for is WAGE PROGRESSION and a JOB/CAREER at the end!!!!
