3 Executive Summary NomuHub is a social enterprise, which aims to provide sustainable solutions for underprivileged communities by offering affordable customized volunteering packages. NomuHub aims to promote the concept of volunteering/travelling tourism (travel with a purpose) in the GCC region. Our trips will focus on supporting education through Community development and Construction at Bentota region of, Sri Lanka

4 Who We Are We are a global network which provides an environment for likeminded people to meet and volunteer whilst enjoying a real travel experience. This combination of volunteering and tourism gives the traveller an exclusive opportunity to interact with local people by bringing a positive change to their lives. 5 Volunteer Work 01 Depending on the project, volunteer activities are as follows: Construction Classroom construction/renovation involves: - Building the foundation with cement, concrete, and concrete blocks - Dealing with wood - Plastering the walls inside and outside - Construction of the roof - Applying concrete to the floor and flattening - Painting the walls - Making a blackboard - Hanging up learning aids (e.g. posters) 02 Community Development Empowers the youth by supporting them with skills and awareness they need to implement change in their lives and their community The program includes: - Activity-based tutoring of English, Math and sciences. - Art and craft activities - Skill-based coaching 03 Sustainability Sustainability program focuses on encouraging sustainable solutions that enhance a communities livelihood. Our Initial project in sustainable agriculture involves: - Shaping soil to catch and store water - Preparing planting holes and banana circles - Slashing grass to prepare land - Structural wood work - Planting seeds - Adding organic matter to plantation

6 Tourist Activities Like the volunteering work, the touristic activities will be dependent on the type of program. The following list would have a few activities that might be included in the program: Welcome Dinner Madu river boat safari Galle fort tour Bentota river tour Water sports Hikkaduwa Beach Turtle conservation farm Farewell Dinner There are some activities that could be arranged upon request, but would require an additional charge. 7 Booking Process Step 1 Apply Online Step 3 Pay deposit & full amount Step 5 Pack and Prepare Step 1: Apply Online Step 2 Confirmation Step 4 Book your flight Step 5 Ready to go!! Read carefully the volunteer manual, complete the online application form on our website and send your CV through volunteer@nomuhub.com Step2: Confirmation A confirmation will be automatically to you with application process Step3: Pay deposit You will be required to pay a deposit of $200. The remaining amount should be paid within 3 days after the deposit. Step4: Book your flight It is your responsibility to arrange your own flight. Book your flight and send us a copy of your booking details no later than 2 weeks prior to your arrival. You should book your flight dates based on the dates of the program selected. The date of your arrival should be always on Sundays at the start of the program. Step4: Pack and prepare We will you an send on-boarding pack manual upon paying deposit and confirming your place. Make sure you read the onboarding pack to have a guide for what you need to prepare before arriving Step5: Experience All ready to go! 8 Prices and Fees Our projects are priced and booked in terms of weeks. 10 About Sri Lanka Climate If you don't want to worry about lugging around an umbrella or becoming overheated, Sri Lanka's weather will meet your needs. The dry heat on the beaches is relieved by the ocean breeze, and you can also take a break in Hill Country where the wind blows all day to cool the earth. In the Southwest, it's best to visit from December to March. If you venture to the Northern or Eastern parts, the dry season is between May and September. Language The main languages spoken in Sri Lanka are Tamil and Sinhala which originate from India and other parts of East Asia. Majority of the country speaks English too, specifically the capital city of Colombo. Geography Sri Lanka is an island who shares maritime borders with the South of India. It features diverse environments, You can find everything from sparkling beaches to jungles for adventurous trekking. Currency The main currency of Sri Lanka is the Sri Lankan Rupee (LKR). 1 US dollar is equivalent to 170 LKR. Cuisine Sri Lanka uses spices, sea food and lots of local food to create unique dishes that you'll want to make at home. While it has influences from other countries, especially India, it has kept it's own favour in the dishes and the food continues to evolve. Their dishes pop with flavour, spice and they love snacking. Not to mention, when you feel like indulging, you can always depend on finding some deep-fried foods.

11 Preparation Guidelines Visa All nationalities are expected to apply for a visa online prior to their arrival in Sri Lanka. An electronic travel authorisation can be obtained at: ecaan-qp-nr3lryat! ?locale=en_us ETA is an official authorization for a Short Visit to Sri Lanka and is issued through an on-line system. No passport copies, documents or photographs are required to obtain ETA electronically. ETA holders will be issued a 30 day Short Visit visa at the port of entry in Sri Lanka. Upon arrival, produce your passport to the immigration officer at the port of entry to obtain the necessary clearance. It is advisable for you to bring a copy of the ETA approval notice along with you. All tourist visas range between $20-$30 for all nationalities. Travel insurance Travel insurance usually covers medical expenses, journey cancellations, and lost or stolen belongings. The cost of the insurance is usually between USD a week. Travel Insurance could be purchased when booking your flight, through a travel agency or through an insurance company such as AXA Gulf Travel Insurance. For more details on the AXA agency s insurance, you can visit: Vaccination The main vaccination we highly recommend is the Yellow Fever vaccine. If you would like to stay up to date with the other recommended (but not essential) vaccinations, you can check: Ensure that you have taken your vaccination(s) at least a week before the trip, as a safety precaution. As for other medications you might need, make sure you have the basic First-Aid Kit medication (e.g., Panadol, Strepsils, Cold & Flu medicines) and any prescribed medicine, including your allergy medication with you. Petty cash For any leisure purchases, you may carry petty cash for such expenses - this can be either in US dollars or Sri Lankan Rupees. We will be visiting a few touristic attractions where you would have the opportunity to shop, therefore the extra cash will come in handy. Packing list There will be a detailed packing list provided to volunteers categorized into: essential documents, recommended, work-related, and optional items.
