Provide details of policies and procedures A number of internal procedures were modified to include the need for packaging assessment when possible. Such procedures included: DG handling-packing and delivery, Material and equipment, Picking-packing-dispatch, Transport of analysers, warehouse control-packing configuration for temperature sensitive products. 9. Our products are medical devices and packaging is subject to strict regulatory requirements. In addition, primary packaging (with imported goods from the manufacturer) is unsuitable for re-cycling due to their infectious status. Goal 1: Design KPI 1: % of signatories with documented policies and procedures for evaluating and procuring packaging using the SPGs or equivalent. Comments Well done on having 100% of your existing packaging reviewed and recruiting a third party to conduct the evaluation. It is not clear from your target or actual, however, what was achieved in this reporting period. To improve in this area, you may want to consider: Reviewing the Principles and Strategies of the SPG and develop a model, procedure or matrix which makes them more accessible and relevant to your business and packaging. You have an ambitious target to capture all recyclable material and appear to be close to meeting it. Please provide further detail in future reporting around your recycling to enable a fuller assessment of your performance. For example, it is not clear whether your target is based on weight of material and what waste streams are being recycled. You may want to track and report quantities of waste and recycling as well. Comments It is great to see that you have a formal policy in place and that all your paper is now from recycled material. It is not clear whether your target refers to 100% of paper material or all procurement so please make this clear in future reporting. You may want to develop additional targets that are aligned with SMART principles to enable easier reporting and assessment. Describe any constraints or opportunities that affected performance under this KPI Due to the medical nature of the products all possible collaboration has already been completed and coordinated with the Regulatory authority. Goal : Product Stewardship KPI 6: % signatories with formal processes to work collaboratively on packaging design and / or recycling. Comments It is a key requirement of this KPI to have formal processes in place to collaborate and you do not have those nor have you clearly demonstrated any targets or achievements in this area. Labelling packaging as recyclable is important but you may want to consult the following references to identify additional ways in which you can collaborate with others to improve packaging design and recycling: You should also ensure your targets are aligned with SMART principles, i.e. specific, measurable and time-bound.

This KPI is intended to allow signatories to report on a broad range of sustainability and product stewardship actions which their organisation is involved in. A satisfactory environment has been created where re-using of paper, default duplex printing for all photocopying and printing resulting in significant reductions of creating such "litter" 8. Comments It is great that you have a culture of minimising litter, however it is not clear what was achieved during the reporting period. This KPI is about reducing the likelihood of packaging or products ending up in public places or the broader environment because they are not disposed by the end consumer in a bin.
