4 CONFERENCE highlights OPENING PLENARY From Biases to Stengths Featuring Suzanne Barakat, M.D. We all have implicit biases, but what happens when they drive hatred, leading to bullying or worse, crime? Learn how in the aftermath of tragedy, Dr. Suzanne Barakat nurtured alliances and created a foundation that continues to strengthen and empower her community to face and hopefully prevent further adversity. We are honored to have Dr. Barakat, board chair of Our Three Winners Foundation, as the opening speaker. The plenary session will be held Friday, September 28, at 9:30 AM. FIRST-PERSON PERSPECTIVES An hour of the first day of the conference is dedicated to peer presentations on the transformative work they are doing in their communities. Participants choose to browse the Hall of Outsized Impact or join a session room to hear other funders tell their stories. BIG IDEA CONVERSATIONS Lean funders play key roles in bringing big ideas to life in their communities.
