As a long time resident of the City of San Jose, my goal is to help improve my community. Being a member of the Council Appointment Advisory Commission will allow me an opportunity to take an active part in helping our city build strong foundations, to lead the City into a brighter tomorrow. Please state any other information which you feel would be useful in reviewing your application As a business owner in San Jose since 1998, I have spent close to 20 years in the position of reviewing job applications and conducting interviews of the candidates. 5 Please describe your experience in serving on a Commission or Board. I have been an integral part of PTA and PTO Boards for the last five years. I have learned it requires a great deal of patience and awareness to work with people from different background and cultures. There are many times I have had to take a small step back in order to allow our board to take a few big steps forward. Considering your experience and activities in business, labor, professional, social, or other organizations, indicate the experience, training, knowledge and/or skills which qualify you for appointment to the selected commission(s). I have been reviewing applications and conducting candidate interviews for my work, for almost 20 years. I have also successfully lead two different PTA Boards to increase productivity, efficiency and community participation in the last five years. What is your understanding of the purpose of the Commission? The purpose of the Council Appointment Advisory Commission is to review all applications submitted to the city, conduct interviews of the candidates, and make recommendations to the City Council.
