4 VIET YOUTH ENTREPRENEURS ABOUT VIET YOUTH ENTREPRENEURS Viet Youth Entrepreneurs (VYE) is the first and only entrepreneurship movement in Vietnam that is by students and for students. Founded in February 2011, VYE s mission is to inspire and empower passionate Vietnamese youths to create successful entrepreneurial endeavors. At the core of VYE is the belief that people, especially the young, should follow their hearts. If they are passionate about something, VYE encourages them to go for it. VYE does this in two ways: by connecting people of similar interests and mindsets, and by inspiring them with many lessons learned from the best entrepreneurial initiatives from Vietnam and all over the world. WHY WE DO WHAT WE DO? Viet Youth Entrepreneurs believes in the power of entrepreneurship in transforming Vietnamese economy by creating values in our society. With limitless enthusiasm, passion, creativity, and energy, Vietnamese youths are capable of molding the future of the country through entrepreneurship. THE IMPACT? Viet Youth Entrepreneurs impacts the society by - Building the next generation of well-educated, innovative and entrepreneurial Vietnamese - Bringing together a network of like-minded people for future opportunities - Unleashing the potential of Vietnam in entrepreneurship and innovationtransforming Vietnam from the manufacturing economy to a high-tech entrepreneurship-centric economy 3

9 VYE Light Up Bootcamp 2011 has completely changed my perception of entrepreneurship. Not only did I receive wonderful guidance from a Stanford professor, have the chance to listen to inspirational talks of successful businessmen, but also learned a tremendous amount from fellow campers. During the one-week bootcamp, my group studied, ate, slept, and worked together to develop our project on environmental-friendly bricks. I was able to approach new, wider perspectives and get a better understanding about my passion and myself. Thank you VYE for giving me an invaluable experience Nguyen Hoang Truc My, Green Bricks 8
