For this reason, it is quite important to understand how this type of firms can respond to the strategic challenges that markets demand. The dynamic process of internationalization of economies around the world contests the existing understanding of the role of SMEs further. 4 International Conference on Entrepreneurship and Innovation for Competitiveness Vietnamese-German University and Leipzig University are organizing the International Conference on Entrepreneurship and Innovation for Competitiveness: Unlocking SME s potentials under evolving challenges and opportunities in the markets. Academicians, practitioners, policy makers, and entrepreneurs from around the world are welcome to share their research, ideas, and experiences related to the challenges that small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) face around the globe. This conference is an unique event which brings together both Asian and other international researchers in the field of management and economics to discuss current challenges, projects, and new approaches about entrepreneurship and innovation research. The conference also intends to contribute to the promotion and development of SMEs and innovation through strategy generation, development of best practices and policy-level guidelines in the relevant areas. 7 German Vietnam Best Business Idea Award Hanoi University of Science and Technology and Leipzig University are proud to announce the 5 th German Vietnam Best Business Idea Award Since 2013 The Best Business Idea Award has been playing the role of a vibrant platform for encouraging and recognizing the role of the young start-up entrepreneurs in developing knowledge-based enterprises in Hanoi. The focus of this initiative is to encourage and assist the efforts of the students to bring technology innovation in the market through developing real business plans and launching the business successfully in the market. Every year, large number of students attend the innovation and business plan training programs. Among them around 100 participants compete for the award with their business idea in the final phase of the competition. The award is sponsored by different international companies active in Vietnam.
