2 ITD Purpose Established by the FAST Act (replaced CVISN) The ITD program is designed to: Improve safety and productivity of motor carriers, commercial vehicles and their drivers Improve efficiency and effectiveness of commercial vehicle safety programs through targeted enforcement Improve data sharing within States and between States and FMCSA Reduce regulatory/administrative costs (Federal/State and industry)
3 Credentials Administration Automated processing of IRP & IFTA credentials Interstate data exchange and funds transfer via IRP/IFTA clearinghouses Safety Information Exchange Sharing of safety/credentials data (CVIEW) Interstate data exchange (CVIEW-SAFER) Use of Aspen or equivalent Electronic Screening Core Program Areas Automated weight and credential screening (fixed or mobile site)

6 FY 2017 Grant Requests Requests totaled ~$39.5 Million NOFA Allocation - $20 Million 6
7 ITD- Eligibility AAMVA Region 1, Portland, Maine States, DC, and U.S. Territories Have an approved program plan (PP/TLD) (*prior to application) Certify to ITS architecture (by acceptance) Promote interoperability (by acceptance) Testing with FMCSA (by acceptance) In addition: Applicant is Lead ITD Agency noted in PP/TLD or has MOU with the Lead. MOU agency has coordinated with Lead Agency. 7
8 CDLPI & CMVOST 2017 Grant Update AAMVA Region 1, Portland, Maine The applications for the Commercial Driver s License Program Implementation (CDLPI) and Commercial Motor Vehicle Operator Safety Training (CMVOST) fiscal year 2017 have been received and are currently under review For CDLPI, FMCSA received a total of 51 eligible applications requesting $47.4M for available funding of $31.2M For CMVOST, FMCSA received a total of 24 eligible applications requesting $3.1M for available funding of $1M Awards will be issued in September Contact Cim Weiss at or cim.weiss@dot.gov for questions concerning the CDLPI and CMVOST grant programs. 8
