2 I. Welcome Address: Since the nineties, EUROFILLERS and POLYMER BLENDS conferences belong to the most important European scientific meetings in the field of polymers. These conferences offered many quality papers covering a wide span of topics. For the first time since 2005, both conferences will merge in 2015 and aim to gather researchers from universities, research institutions and industry not only from Europe, but from many countries worldwide. As in the past conferences, young scientists are strongly encouraged to present their work with lively discussions and to join the community as contributing professional members. Topical reviews will be presented by plenary and keynote speakers to create an outstanding event that will highlight current and future trends in the field of polymer blends. Advanced polymer materials are key drivers for breakthrough innovations in many applications. Topics related to fillers and polymer blends have progressed a great deal during last years, since the interest of the industry and academia shifted significantly to more heterogeneous systems. Moreover, many different types of innovative polymer materials give new functionalities to products for a wide range of industrial applications that address new societal challenges and demands. The pursuit of excellence in scientific knowledge and in its technical application towards socially acceptable and environmentally friendly products, processes and services, requires greater inclusiveness of a diversity of polymer material perspectives. To discuss the scientific research challenges and opportunities of the next decade, the Polymer Blends and Eurofillers new joint meeting will be held in Montpellier, France in April
