10 EQUITY IMPACT STATEMENT The Office of External Affairs is committed to playing its role in ensuring every student is able to enjoy the benefits of being a Boston Public School graduate with full agency to enter into a career, college, or alternative life pathway that we can as yet only imagine. For some of our students, this is a vision they have both seen and experienced. For other students, we have an obligation to show them that these experiences exist, help them and for yet another group of young people we must engage in the challenge of making sure those experiences are fully accessible without compromise. IMPACT & METRICS Office of External Affairs, as its first endeavor, designed and implemented a cross-cutting instance of Salesforce that will allow full donor investment to be viewed and updated

22 IMPACT & METRICS Office of External Affairs, as its first endeavor, designed and implemented a cross-cutting instance of Salesforce that will allow full donor investment to be viewed and updated coherently across the district. Our next agenda item is to partner with United Way in order to identify metrics for understanding the value of skills based volunteering and service. We will work to have both a better understanding of our donor segments (via fall and winter engagement campaigns) and well-informed targets for each category of giving (time, treasure, talent) by the close of November and will update the School Committee with anticipated revenue for FY 18, 19 and 20 at that time. OEA anticipates raising an additional $15M of time, treasure & talent for the BPS operating and capitol budget over the next 3 years and hope to engage upwards of 50,000 alumni and close-knit stakeholders within the current school year Office of External Affairs FA17 22

The Office of External Affairs (OEA) is designed to ensure the district is able to bring philanthropic resources to its 56,000 students, families, teachers and administrators. Our core belief is that equity is at the cornerstone of transforming education. Together. The OEA supports system level priorities that will bring equity, coherence and innovation to our schools and offer learning to our students, teachers and families that ensure appropriate skill sets for the successful interaction with the work, play, living and dreams we see in the 21st century. The OEA emphasizes the strength of relationships, transparency and accountability. Investment into our district is valued no matter if it is in the form of service, skills-based volunteering or financial. We know that time, treasure and talent are what will bring our students into the city of Boston and the city into our classrooms. The City of Boston is our Classroom.
