8 Land Use Ordinance (LUO) CCOG submitted comments on draft LUO in mid-july Result of great work of our Ordinance Committee plus stakeholders Seven comments -- provided to all CCOG members County staff has more or less incorporated comments Staff actions forwarded to members above Only one recommendation not addressed directional signage No big changes to Ag Processing (Milling) Planning Commission meets 23 August 2012 Agenda and updated draft to be published this week County staff has asked for CCOG support Action to Ordinance Committee Position on staff inclusion/exclusion of CCOG recommendations Representation at 23 August meeting Coordinate with County staff (Karen Nall)

Are small growers and producers exempt? What is the process? Is there a State order as well? What is meant by voting by growers or by volume What is the schedule for implementation? 15 Paso Robles/Templeton Chambers of Commerce CCOG membership being considered (Paso: $235/Year + $30; Templeton $50/Year) Attended recent 4 Chamber Mixer Frank and Marti Menacho, Barry and Linda Ross, and Melinda Laraneta Access to the hospitality industry for distribution of promotional materials Opens the door to events and mixers represented by at least two CCOG members Hesitation investment of money and time Need to establish the role of CCOG Chamber Coordinator(s) to proceed

16 Annual Olive Event in Templeton Dialogue started with North County Farmer s Market Possible Spring or Fall annual event Possibly linked with Chamber or Rotary as a community fund-raiser Patterned after Day in the Shade art festival event Member inputs and a CCOG coordinator needed to proceed

19 Processed Food Registration (PFR) Research began with SLO County Department of Environmental Health no jurisdiction State DPH (Food and Drug Branch) Bottling of olive oil is considered food processing, regardless of whether the olive oil is infused with any other substance. Anyone who manufactures, packs, or holds processed food in California must have a valid Processed Food Registration (PFR) issued by Food and Drug Branch (FDB). It does not matter whether the olives come from your own orchard or another source. Inspection and Payment of Fees Minimum level - $448/year CFR Title 21 Good Manufacturing Practice (Human Food)
