4 External Funding Guidelines Kean University seeks external funding to support research, scholarship, and creative activity that will advance knowledge in the traditional disciplines, improve skills in professional areas, and integrate research and teaching to enhance student learning. Projects are expected to support Kean s mission of excellence, equity, and access. Faculty and staff cannot apply directly for grants All proposals, including letters of intent, pre-proposals and contracts must be submitted by ORSP Proposals not responding to an announced funding opportunity require pre-approval by Executive Director/Chair and Dean Part-time faculty must partner with full-time faculty to apply for external funding

18 Kean University s Crowd-funding Site To submit an idea for a campaign, click on the Get Started tab on the KEANLIFT site keanlift.kean.edu Crowd funding works by raising many small amounts of money from a large number of people, via the Internet. Kean University faculty, staff and student organizations may submit an idea for a crowd funding campaign through this site. Campaigns can be for academic research, creative activity, entrepreneurial activity, community outreach programs, or student projects.
