9 Rationale Entrepreneurship is the professional application of knowledge, skills and competencies and/or of monetizing a new idea, by an individual or a set of people by launching an enterprise de novo or diversifying from an existing one (distinct from seeking self-employment as in a profession or trade), thus to pursue growth while generating wealth, employment and social good. If it is to make a success of the coveted appeal 'Make in India' for growth and employment generation, we need to stimulate the entrepreneurial mindsets of young people, encourage innovative business start-ups, and foster a culture that is friendlier to entrepreneurship. The important role of education in promoting more entrepreneurial attitudes and behaviours is now widely recognised. The myth that entrepreneurs are born, no more holds good, rather it is well recognised now that the entrepreneurs can be created and nurtured through appropriate interventions in the form of entrepreneurship development programmes. Sinhgad Institutes, the leaders in developing human resources, are determined to churn out technoentrepreneurs on a continuous basis with some modulation and change in focus, which would accelerate the process of economic development and growth. Sinhgad Institutes have undertaken the role to blend technical inputs with entrepreneurial and managerial skills in their academic programmes and train S&T person for entrepreneurial challenges. Entrepreneurship refers to an individual s ability to turn ideas into action and is therefore a key competence for all, helping young people to be more creative and self-confident in whatever they undertake. At higher education level, the primary purpose of entrepreneurship education should be to develop entrepreneurial capacities and mindsets. ENTREPRENEURSHIP CELL SINHGAD COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING, PUNE

Thanks for honouring us all the time, you are the real source of inspiration for us. We would like to conclude this executive report with a vision, vision to spearhead entrepreneurship movement. Sinhgad Institutes are geared up to encourage self-employment in all spheres for student start-ups. We have started the process of promoting and strengthening entrepreneurship amongst Science and Technology target groups across our resourceful campuses by organizing entrepreneurial promotion activities to foster skills development. We are also mapping our resources best to kick off Technology Business Incubator though Entrepreneurship Cell to assist students and qualified people to perform technical and financial feasibility studies for checking viability of their ideas to start-ups, and also to lend a hand to them for preparing bankable projects in a right format. We have been promoting Entrepreneurship since our establishment and we must say that the entrepreneurial culture has firmly embedded itself in minds of several students to pursue their dreams. We are committed for transformation in the Indian Economy by offering a readymade platform to students and spearheading the entrepreneurship movement that leads to Future India capacity building. So, we are planning to launch ambitious program called SEED across our campuses very soon. About SEED: Strengthening Entrepreneurial Ecosystem Development {SEED} is an attempt to bridge the gap between technology education and entrepreneurial skill-set development. SEED is an pilot initiative to encourage education in entrepreneurship awareness throughout the nation with a belief that entrepreneurs need not necessarily be born, but can be developed through wellconceived and well-directed activities. In order to incline our youths towards giving ENTREPRENEURSHIP CELL SINHGAD COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING, PUNE

60 entrepreneurship a preference over other career choices, a constant reinforcement is required. Growing the pool of skilled people is a key priority of the program. So, there are tremendous benefits to you and your organization from teaching entrepreneurship and opening student s eyes and minds to the possibilities of commercializing ideas they develop, either during their time at Sinhgad Institutes or during their working careers (alumni). Now we are seeking valuable guidance and productive support from you and your organization to promoting and strengthen entrepreneurship amongst Science and Technology target groups across our resourceful campuses. And also looking for your kind support to establish E-cell at our campus that could spearhead the entrepreneurship movement resulted into more employment generation opportunities. We are very much confident to widen and share the best practices of successful educational models that intersect entrepreneurship and innovation/technology development through curricula, coursework, awareness camps, applied activities, mentoring, innovation labs, incubators, or wherever successes can be studied and measured. We have been taking several initiative to promote entrepreneurship both on and off campus. We sincerely hope that our efforts grow in scale and impact over the coming years and that an entrepreneurial revolution sweeps Indian youth. We also hope to coordinate with all like-minded and inspired e-leaders and organizations promoting this just cause. Moreover, we hope to empower the next billion, the under-privileged India through entrepreneurship and innovation. We sincerely pray that our vision will get fulfilled and hope we will make a difference in the future of our great nation. Thanking you for your time and consideration! R.S.V.P. Prof. Suraj S.
