4 Louisiana Resilience and Recovery Symposium December 8 th Held December 8, 2016 at LITE Center in Lafayette Provided attendees the opportunity to hear from and dialogue with both peers and subject matter experts. Provided information about regional and state watershed management and other resilience methods Provided more specifics on how the State recovery structure and alignment NDRF and establishing the Restore Task Force Over 26 sponsors supported the event Total of 215 attended, including: 18 different parishes were represented with 55 persons attending 70 persons attended from different state agencies and partners Business professionals from varies for profit organizations and companies

11 Joint collaboration and partnership RSF1 and RSF 4 Held May 9th One Day Event 7:30AM to 4:30PM, Monroe Civic Center, Monroe, LA Assisted with building Capacity within the State Attendance over 130 participated 17 different Speakers and SMEs presented Format Plenary/General Session and six (6) Small Group Breakouts Over 25 different Sponsors, and coordination with partners Exhibitors and Resource Tables
12 Housing and Resiliency Symposium Overview The Louisiana Housing and Resiliency Symposium, the second in a statewide series addressing recovery issues as a result of the 2016 floods. The event focused on best practices in providing affordable housing through partnerships with non profits, developers and financial institutions; aid in leaders in decisions to address and create a more resilient and sustainable community. Symposiums provided updates on the state s recovery programs to address the impact of the floods, such as the Housing Rehabilitation Program for homeowners; and several programs designed for renters and landlords to increase the availability of affordable housing units in the state. Opportunities to share and network with community leaders and SMEs In the afternoon, small breakout sessions include the following topics: A. DESIGNING 1ST TIME HOMEBUYER PROGRAM B. HOW TO AUCTION OR DONATE ADJUDICATED PROPERTIES TO ADDRESS BLIGHT AND BUILD HOUSING STOCK C. FILLING THE FINANCIAL GAP THE ROLE OF FINANCIAL INSTITUTIONS IN RECOVERY D. USING AND APPLYING FOR TAX CREDITS TO DEVELOP AFFORDABLE HOUSING E. CONVERTING BROWNFIELDS INTO HOUSING STOCK F. ZONING CODES AND ORDINANCES FOR AFFORDABLE AND SUSTAINABLE HOUSING
