The popular EURAXESS Science Slam 2015 has officially Idcked off in six regions across the globe. The annual science communication competition takes place this In ASEAN, Brazil, China, India, Japan, and North America. The lucky winners will travel to Europe for the unique chance to network with research peers at one of Europe's top research institutes. EURAXESS Links ASEAN and its national partners, including the National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA) In Thailand, are organising qualifying events in THAILAND, INDONESIA, MALAYSIA, SINGAPORE, and VIETNAM. The winner of each national qualifying event will compete for the title of EURAXESS Science Slam ASEAN winner 2015 at the live finals in Bangkok, Thailand on 3 November WHAT IS THE SCIENCE SLAM? 4 Southeast Asia - Europe Pilot Joint Call for Mobility in the thematic areas of Environment, Health and Food research is open nowl Deadline for submission: 14 September 2015 (23:59 GET) Type of funded projects: Europe-Southeast Asian mobility projects with at least 2 partners from both regions in the fields of Environmental (climate change, water resource management, smarter cities, biodiversity & energy), Health ((neglected) infectious diseases, antimicrobial drug resistance) or Food (agricultural productivity, sustainabllity and standards, value chain) research to establish new and strengthen existing networks with multidisciplinary approaches between both regions. 5 Scope of the projects: -----Pl-"lfFAojects can have a maximum duration of 1 year within whteh at least two workshops liave to be orgaliized (oile iii edcl i legioil). According to the respective national regulations the following funding can be applied for: Mobility. Workshops Please refer to the National Regulations for a detailed description of the funding instrument. You can download the respective national regulations for your country in the attachments section. Who can apply? Applications may be submitted by academics, higher education institutions or nonuniversity research establishments and SMEs. Eligibly criteria can be found in the respective national funding regulations. Consortia that wish to apply for funding of a research project within the above mentioned topics, have to consist of at least two partners from each region. Countries contributing to the Call are: Austria, Belgium, Cambodia, France, Germany, Lao POR, Myanmar, The Netherlands, The Philippines, Poland & Thailand, Partners from other countries than those participating in the Call can join a consortium but have to secure their own funding. Applicants are strongly advised to discuss their intentions and confirm eligibility with their respective National Contact Points before submitting an application. Application Process The application procedure has one stage. Applications are submitted electronically using PT-Outline Web Tool, accessible through this link. Here you can also find the template for the project description and financial plan. All proposals must be written in English only. The PT~Outiine electronic template consists of four pages (General information, Project coordinator, Project partners and Project description) that need to be filled-in online. In addition, a word document has to be downloaded from the Project description page of PT Outline, filled-in with the requested information, converted to PDF format and then uploaded again.

Peer review Independent scientific experts in the relevant thematic research fields will carry out the anonymous peer review of the eligible project proposals according to evaluation criteria set up by the funding parties. Each proposal will be evaluated by one Southeast Asian and one European peer reviewer. The peer reviewers wul be nominated by the Southeast Asian and European National Contact Points in cooperation with the funding parties. The Joint Call Secretariat will inform the Project Coordinators of the outcome of the eligibility check. Project Coordinators should then inform their project partners on the results. IEligibility Research proposals may be submitted by any laboratory or Joint Research Unit affiliated to CNRS. Events: In general all costs directly related to the preparation and the implementation of events like workshops, conferences. etc. are eligible. National rules and CNRS internal processes will be applied. Translation costs are not eligible. Equipment: Equipment costs are not eligible. Consumables: According to the C!\IRS internal rules regarding consumables and supplies, any consumables necessary for the implementation of the project may be considered as direct eligible costs (i.e. consumable: unit cost less than 800 EUR and/or duration of use less than one year). Consumables are only eligible costs under the project if bought ("service fait'~ after the start date of the project. Consumables belonging to the applicant's basic facilities are not eligible. Personnel costs: Personnel included in the project may be from CNRS laboratories or Joint Research Units, whether they are hired by CNRS or by its partner institution. Personnel costs are not eligible but they shall appear in the total costs. 1
