On the list, Gerdau Chief Executive Officer (CEO), André B. Gerdau Johannpeter, appeared in first place in the category of Best CEO - Metals & Mining Sector, according to the opinion of the Sell Side analysts (those who work in banks and brokerage firms and evaluate companies to recommend the purchase or sale of stock to their clients). In the view of the Buy Side analysts, which are those who make internal assessments for asset managers, recommending the purchase or sale of equities for their portfolios, the CEO came in second place. Gerdau Usiba receives ISO Certification Gerdau Usiba received the ISO Certification in December without any record of non-compliance, which consolidates the company's commitment to preserving the environment and to sustainable

2 development. The plant produces long steel and is located in the Aratu Industrial Center on Simões Filho, Bahia. Around 10,000 hours of training were given throughout the period of preparation for the audit, involving employees and service providers. At the end of the process, the auditors made mention of the involvement and commitment of all the company's teams engaged. The plant had already received the ISO 9001 Certification in 2007, which establishes requirements for implementing a quality management system in an organization. OHSAS Certification confirms good safety e health management at Sipar Gerdau The OHSAS (Occupational Health & Safety Assessment Series) Certification, which is awarded to companies that stand out in managing their health and safety practices, is the most recent recognition received by Sipar Gerdau in Argentina. The certification has the purpose of ensuring a better management of the area by reducing risks and improving safety in the workplace. In addition to this certificate, Sipar Gerdau also has the certifications ISO 9000 and for its quality management systems and its environmental policies. Revenda Construção magazine awards Gerdau's GG 50 rebar and nails A benchmark in the building sector, the GG 50 rebar was once again highlighted in the Best Product of the Year Award sponsored by Revenda Construção magazine. For the 14th consecutive year the product was ranked as the best in the category of Frames & Hardware along with the nails by Gerdau brand, which were highlighted in the category of Basic Materials. The products were recognized as the top sellers among more than 2,400 registered voters from building material stores in Brazil who evaluated items from nine categories: Bathroom, Kitchen, Frames & Hardware, Tools, Basic Materials, Materials for Finishing, Paint and Accessories, Hydraulic Material, and Electrical Material. The awards ceremony took place in late November in São Paulo, bringing together over 300 representatives from industry and retailers who could see the winning products on display. Elefante Barbed Wire and Oval-Shaped Wire are also awarded For the 10th consecutive time, Gerdau's Elefante Barbed Wire and Oval-Shaped Wire were the favorites in the Top List Rural Award conceived by Rural magazine. Gerdau was the brand highlighted in the category of Wires with 51% of the votes. The trophies were received in early December at an event held in São Paulo. MPE Brasil Award breaks record of enrollment in 2010 In the 2010 edition, the MPE Brasil Award, whose aim is to enhance the ability of small entrepreneurs to face market challenges and exceed their levels of efficiency, reached a record number of 99,278 companies entered. The initiative is carried out every year by Gerdau in partnership with SEBRAE (Brazilian Service to Support Micro and Small Enterprises), Competitive Brazil Movement, National Quality Foundation, and Petrobras. Companies are ranked after filling out a management questionnaire based on criteria of excellence from the National Quality Foundation. The ones ranked with the higher scores then receive technical assessment visits to define the winners. In this year's edition, 190 small suppliers for Gerdau attended a meeting of the Basic Program of Supplier Development and answered the Award's questionnaire, which is also used as an evaluation tool for improving the management of the business for these companies. Of these, 116 registered to the MPE Brasil in their states. Gerdau not only invests in the development of micro and small companies, but it also encourages the volunteer involvement of employees, stimulating their participation as an evaluator of this award. In this edition, 185 volunteers received 16 hours of training on the fundamentals of excellence in management, becoming apt to make assessment visits in companies applying for the award.

3 The national recognition will take place in March at a ceremony in the city of Brasília. Gerdau Ameristeel builds a monument in honor of football Gerdau Ameristeel, the second largest steel mini-mill company in the United States, built a massive steel monument which honors the Texas historic legacy in high school football. Entitled Cradle of Champions, the sculpture is a partnership between the company and the city of Fort Worth, Texas, and will be unveiled during Super Bowl, which is the most important sporting event in the United States and this year takes place in February. The steel used to build the monument was produced at Gerdau Ameristeel plant located in Midlothian, Texas. The sculpture brings together two important elements of the reality in Texas: football and oil production. Names of successful players who have made football history in the region and who joined the National Football League will be engraved on the structure. To build the monument, the company melted steel parts collected from the premises of high schools that received outstanding players, as well as materials from the demolition of the Texas Stadium. The monument, which will weigh about eleven metric tons, is the third one Gerdau has participated. Last year, the company built the Champions Arch using recycled steel from the Orange Bowl and Dolphin stadiums, both located in Miami. For the 2009 Super Bowl in Tampa, Florida, Gerdau Ameristeel built the Champions Landing monument. 4 Gerdau completes 30 years in Uruguay The entry of Gerdau into Uruguay 30 years ago was a landmark in the company's history. It was in Uruguay in 1980 where the company's internationalization began, and today it operates in the Americas, Europe, and Asia and is present in 14 countries. The steel supplied by Diaco is certified and produced in accordance with the new Colombian standard of earthquake resistance (NSR-10). This type of steel has special properties to withstand earthquakes that may occur in the country, which provides customers with greater safety for their buildings. Siderperu offers 150 full scholarships for technical training in Peru Technical School, a vocational education center located inside Siderperu - Gerdau plant in Peru -, offers 150 scholarships to low-income youth in the areas of mechanical maintenance and steelmaking processes. The school has operated for 12 years and has trained hundreds of professionals during this period. Technical School has a modern infrastructure and labs for practical and theoretical classes in order to ensure that the learning is based on the most modern technologies for producing steel and for other areas. The deadline for registration ends in February.

5 The Technical School Program offers 150 scholarships for young people in Peru Partnership between Gerdau and Junior Achievement benefits more than 27,000 students in 2010 More than 27,000 students from 190 schools have benefited from Junior Achievement programs carried out in partnership with Gerdau in 2010, which also counted on the participation of 1,348 volunteers representing a total of 37,793.5 hours donated on behalf of education in Brazil. Founded in 1919 in the United States, Junior Achievement is the largest and oldest organization of practical education in business, economics, and entrepreneurship in the world. The programs were offered in 17 states and in the Federal District in Brazil benefiting 6,739 students from 69 schools, and also counted on the participation of 393 volunteers from Gerdau. These initiatives are coordinated by Gerdau Institute, which is responsible for the company's social responsibility policies and guidelines. GIR Barbed Wire receives new packaging Gerdau's GIR Barbed Wire has a new look. The new packaging, wrapped in a protective cover, prevents accidents when handling the wire, conserves the product better, and facilitates its transport. GIR is a versatile and economical product, designed for rural and urban properties and is available in the lengths of 100*, 250, 400, and 500 meters. *The 100-meter roll does not have a protective cover.
