2 In 2009, Unisys set out with Cloud 20/20 in search of talent which has grown to be one of India s biggest online technical project contests today. Unisys provides a platform to present innovative ideas around the latest disruptive technologies to thousands of students across the country, while promoting innovation and thought leadership. This year we have returned with the ninth edition, to not just look for innovators, but thinkers who can influence and change the way the world thinks. Cloud 20/20 Year 9 intends to offer a universe of opportunities for the bright stars of the new generation to move head-to-head with the industry. Cloud 20/20 is open to all engineering students who have an eye for innovation, interest in solving complex, real world business challenges, and taking their innovative ideas to the next level. This edition of Cloud 20/20 will be a battleground for the alpha thinkers, challenge lovers, and those who wish to etch their name in the history of innovation. What's in store this year? With Industry 4.0 at our doorsteps, the $155 billion IT industry in India is now at a critical juncture where reinvention is going to be critical for relevance and long-term success. Recent estimates show us that India will need nearly 700 million workers with the right skillsets by 2022 to keep up with the growing economy and the demands of the connected workplace. The first order of business for the industry to stay relevant will be to find effective ways to address the existing skill gap in the workforce in India and ensure a pipeline of quality talent available locally. This is where Cloud 20/20 is the only national platform of its kind in India where we attempt to pick the best minds from the fresh talent available in academia and not just equip them with the right skills to be future-ready but also serve as the primary conduit between the right talent and the industry. 4 Technology disrupts. Weinnovate. Cloud 20/20 Year 9 Cloud 20/20 has been a sole collaboration between Unisys and the academia. The contest focuses on Student Innovation Projects with an aim to bring out fresh ideas in the industry and academia around the latest disruptive technologies. Some of the topics for contest includes Cloud-based Applications and Micro Services, Internet of Things, Security, Multimodal Biometrics, Data Analytics using Machine Learning & AI/Cognitive Solutions using Deep Learning, and more. The winning teams share a price pool valued at 4.25 lakhs. Additionally, the winners get an opportunity to have their ideas patented, exhibit their ideas to a panel of industry experts, startups & angel investors; and explore career opportunities with Unisys.
