Norma Patrick Presented faculty symposium, University of e Cumberlands, Invading e Vegetative Mind... Student Al Pilant Coach of e Academic Team. Attended a Kentucky College Quick Recall League Tournament at Georgetown, September 23. Hosted a KCQRL Tournament on November 4. Bob Reising Co-auoring wi Brett Friedlander, Chasing Moonlight in which five chapters recently ran in e Fayetteville, Nor Carolina Observer in October. It ran in is city because of e Reese Grant we had won from at newspaper e previous year to support our research, which required trips to Minnesota and Pennsylvania, as well as to various cities in Nor Carolina, Graham's native state. Accepted an invitation to serve on e Kentucky River P-16 Council headquartered in Hazard. Recently evaluated a Book Prospectus, Teaching Young Adult Literature in New Times, for Sage Publications, which is considering publication of e book. Presented symposium, University of e Cumberlands, Boys of Baraka Film and Discussion, November 8, Kei Semmel Presented faculty/staff colloquium, Thirty Years Ago In Our Very Own Galaxy... The My and Meaning of e Star Wars Films, November 14, Jolly Sharp Awarded e 2006 O'Connor Collection Junior Fellowship from Georgia College and State University, allowing her to work in e Flannery O'Connor special collections of e library ere. Presented a paper entitled "Grace Lumpkin's Crusty Bread: A Social Commentary" at e PCAS Conference (Popular Culture Association in e Sou), in Savannah, Georgia on October 6, Preparing wi Tom Frazier, A chronology "Social Life" for A Chronology of American Popular Culture from 1900 to e Present to be edited by Professors Michael and Sarah Dunne of Middle Tennessee State University and to be published by Greenwood Press. Completed successfully her written and oral comprehensive examinations at Middle Tennessee State University. Awarded a doctoral fellowship for Spring 2007 from Middle Tennessee State University.
