1 WOMEN S BASKETBALL GAMEDAY NOTEBOOK SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 12, 2017 STARTING LINEUP The Dayton Flyers have been selected to repeat as A-10 champions in the league's annual preseason poll. The Flyers garnered eight first-place votes for a total of 182 points. Saint Louis is second in the poll with three first-place votes and 174 points and Saint Joseph s was selected to finish third in the poll with three first-place votes and 170 points. The A-10 opened the season with nine wins on opening night, as Davidson, Dayton, Fordham, La Salle, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Richmond, St. Bonaventure and Saint Louis all recorded victories. Last season, the Atlantic 10 launched a women s basketball-specific Twitter handle The account, which the conference continues to grow and enhance, will again be a one-stop shop for fans and media to stay up-to-date on all things related to A-10 women s hoops, including game schedules, scores, player awards, game highlights and more. The Atlantic 10 Women's Basketball TV Schedule features 32 nationally televised appearences across the league's three media partners: ESPN, CBS Sports Network and NBCSN. Saint Louis senior Jackie Kemph was selected as one of 20 players to be named to the Nancy Lieberman Award Watch List for This marks the second consecutive season she has received the accolade. Now in its 18th year, the award is presented by the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame to the nation's top NCAA Division I women's basketball point guard. A-10 women's basketball teams posted the highest GSR scores in conference history with 97% success rate. As a league, the A-10 finished tied for fourth amongst all Division I conferences. Through their history, they have combined for 115 postseason appearances. Throughout the A-10 s 35 years of women s basketball history, 12 different programs have been crowned conference champions. Since the season, the Atlantic 10 has sent 67 teams to the postseason, including three teams to the NCAA Tournament in six of the last 10 years. There have been 25 appearances in the NCAA Tournament by A-10 teams in that 10 year time frame, 15 of which have come via at-large bids. The Atlantic 10 has had at least five teams qualify for postseason play every year, with 10 of the 14 current members having made the postseason, during that span.
