All the ACC schools except UNC Chapel Hill give athletes priority. All the schools in the UNC peer group that responded except the University of Michigan give athletes priority. Schools that give athletes priority typically give other special groups priority. The most common groups to receive priority are athletes, students with disabilities, and students in honors or scholars programs.
3 Priority Groups Mentioned School Groups Appalachian State University Early registration "priority" to specified groups--at last count, 1400 plus out of a population of 12,300. One of the "specified groups" is NCAA athletes, of which there are approximately 400 Arizona Brandeis No priorities but having requests about Theater Arts and Music students with afternoon performances Case Western Clemson University selectively, where special assistance justified. Seniors Coop students Student athletes University of Colorado, Boulder, disabled,seniors and students in service to the university Duke, identified by Disability Services East Carolina students with disabilities graduate students honors program students teaching fellows second degree students student athletes Elizabeth City State University disabled students band, athletes, cheerleaders Emory Certain student scholars but not athletes Florida AIM students at risk National Merit Hispanic and Achievement Scholars Florida State Georgia Institute of Technology President's scholars (honor) A very small number of students who work during registration and do campus tours. Illinois Priority order: Honors>Special needs>>band>seniors>then followed by Grad students and others based on total credit hours earned and enrolled

Each term the priority student groups are purged, lists are re-submitted and students re-entered.
