1 64 SECONDS to Learn Up To 25 THINGS about St. Louis Park High School 1: From the Principal April 20, 2017 I had the wonderful pleasure of attending the Building Assets Reducing Risks (BARR) Spring Conference here in St. Louis Park. Three SLP High School students, Yusra Jara, Manegbe Eben, and Marco Giovanelli performed the beautiful song "Rise Up". Our World Drumming classes performed later in the day and had toes tapping and hands clapping, ending with a standing ovation. A group of current SLP teachers, Superintendent Rob Metz, former SLP educators, and many other visitors from schools and organizations nation-wide came to the Double Tree to learn and collaborate. Former SLP High School Principal, Bob Laney, was present representing the St. Anthony-New Brighton school district. It was great to see former SLP High School Counselor and creator of the BARR program, Angie Jerabek, organize such a wonderful event. I am very proud of the history of our school. Current students and staff represented SLP very well today. Scott Meyers Principal

Click here for a brief description of each standardized test given at our school and an opt-out form if you choose to opt your student out of testing. Although we encourage each student to test, we will work with you to make sure that your request is honored. You will be receiving all of this information in the mail next week. The opt-out form will be available in the principal's office as well. Please note that two of our testing deadlines listed on the opt-out form have already passed. For these exams students had access to the opt-out forms to complete as needed. 20: Park Tech Computer Repair

The Gratitude Greetings program sponsored by the St. Louis Park Public Schools Foundation is an opportunity for you to thank the teachers, coaches, principals, specialist teachers, and classroom aides who impact students in SLP each day. For a small donation ($10 is the suggested minimum, but any amount is welcome), the Foundation will deliver a beautiful thank-you card, expressing gratitude to that staff member for his or her efforts on behalf of a student or family. The single donation can be used to thank as many staff members as you wish. It's easy! Go to the Foundation website, and click on Gratitude Greetings. Money collected by the foundation goes directly back to the schools in the form of grants for projects designed by teachers. These innovative projects might otherwise not be funded due to budget constraints. Projects focus on enhancements in the areas of reading, math, science and arts. Since its inception, the foundation has granted more than $300,000, with about $40,000 allocated per year. 22: Ice Cream Social Plan to attend the 24th annual Children First Ice Cream Social on Sunday, May 21, 2:00-5:00 p.m. in the new Recreation Outdoor Center (ROC) at the St. Louis Park Rec Center, 3700 Monterey Drive.
