2 Facts & Member Responsibilities The Associate Board of Ambassadors (ABOA) is a young professionals group who has raised over $1 million in the fight against cancer since its inception in Skyline Soiree is the primary fundraiser of the Associate Board attracting more than 500 guests and one of the premier events of its kind in Chicago. The group of 80 young professionals from nearly 70 companies throughout the Chicagoland area is also charged with furthering the fundraising efforts of the Discovery Ball through procurement of silent auction items and volunteer recruitment. Perhaps most importantly, ABOA members have the opportunity to network with others who are interested in making a difference in their community and significantly impacting the American Cancer Society s lifesaving mission. Facts & Member Responsibilities: Purchase a minimum of one ticket to Skyline Soiree by 02/12/16 or at the time of registration to be list as a member of the Associate Board of Ambassadors. The purchase of a ticket to Skyline Soiree is required to be a member in good standing and does not apply toward the fundraising minimum. Commit to an individual fundraising minimum of $500 annual give/get (January 1, December 31, 2016) through any of the following channels: - Discovery Ball live/silent auction item procurement - Skyline Soiree ticket sales - Skyline Soiree sponsorship/underwriting procurement - Silent auction item procurement for Skyline Soiree - Online fundraising - Host a third party event (ie: Jean s Day, Bar Night, Bake Sale, etc.) - Personal check or cash donation (does not include purchase of auction items or raffle tickets the night of the event) Attend ABOA meetings and committee meetings. Serve on a minimum of one ABOA committee. Strive to volunteer for at least one shift at Discovery Ball. Allow the use of your name, company affiliation and photo to promote and publicize the ABOA and related events. Recruit other young professionals to join the ABOA. Promote Skyline Soiree and ABOA through social media Facebook: Skyline Soiree - American Cancer Society Associate Board of Ambassadors Serve as a community ambassador for the American Cancer Society s mission and programs.

6 ABOA Committees Discovery Ball 2016 Silent Auction Committee Overview The Silent Auction Committee is charged with procuring silent auction items for Discovery Ball The sub-committee is led by a Silent Auction Chair and has additional committee members. The Silent Auction Chair for Discovery Ball 2016 reports to the Vice President. Monthly progress reports will be submitted to the Board of Ambassadors (BOA). Sub-Committee Responsibilities: Committee members attend monthly Silent Auction sub-committee meetings or conference calls Silent Auction Chair attends meetings or calls as requested by the Associate Board s Vice President Establish a committee revenue goal and target list in conjunction with the ACS Staff Lead and Associate Board Vice President Procure high-end items for the Discovery Ball 2016 silent auction Confirm auction details for each item including: donor contact information, certificate restrictions item delivery date, item storage location, retail value and item description Ensure all donation forms are properly completed and sent to the Discovery Ball Office by the pre-determined deadline Execute creative display of items on day-of-event auction tables Volunteer at Discovery Ball 2016 Skyline Soiree 2016 Silent Auction Committee Overview The Silent Auction Committee is charged primarily with procuring silent auction items for Skyline Soiree The sub-committee is led by Silent Auction Co-Chairs and has additional committee members. The Silent Auction Co-Chair for Skyline Soiree reports to the Event Co-Chairs. Monthly progress reports will be submitted to the Associate Board of Ambassadors (ABOA) Executive Committee. Committee Member Responsibilities: Attend monthly Skyline Soiree Committee meetings or conference calls Procurement of silent auction items to be featured at Skyline Soiree Conduct outreach for recognized Skyline Soiree sponsorship opportunities Solicit for underwriting and in-kind opportunities Develop strategies for promoting the event and increasing ticket sales Promote Skyline Soiree through social media Facebook: Skyline Soiree - American Cancer Society Associate Board of Ambassadors
7 Membership Fundraising Requirements Following are the minimum fundraising requirements associated with Associate Board membership: 1. All members are required to purchase a minimum of one ticket to the ABOA s signature event Skyline Soiree 2016 ($125) to be listed as a member of the Associate Board of Ambassadors. Ticket must be purchased by 2/12/2016 or at the time of registration. A ticket to Skyline Soiree includes open bar, hors d oeuvres, live band, entertainment and activities throughout the night. The purchase of a ticket to Skyline Soiree is required to be a member in good standing and does not apply toward the fundraising minimum. Please Note: Only members who purchase a ticket to Skyline Soiree or reach the fundraising minimum by 2/12/2016 will be listed in the Discovery Ball program book as a member of the Associate Board of Ambassadors. Only members who purchase a ticket to Skyline Soiree and reach the fundraising minimum by the print deadline will be listed in the Skyline Soiree program book as a member of the Associate board of Ambassadors. Only members who purchase a ticket to Skyline Soiree will be listed on the event website as a member of the Associate Board of Ambassadors. 2. All members must commit to an overall minimum fundraising goal of $500 during the fiscal year (January 1, December 31, 2016) through any of the following channels: - Skyline Soiree sponsorship procurement - Skyline Soiree ticket sales - Silent/Live Auction item procurement for Skyline Soiree and/or Discovery Ball - Online fundraising - Host a third party event (ie: Jean s Day, Bar Night, Bake Sale, etc.) - Personal check or cash donation (does not include purchase of auction items, raffle tickets or required one ticket to Skyline Soiree 2016.)

A limited quantity of earned tickets to the Discovery Ball 2016 are available and tickets will be awarded on a first-earned, first-served basis.
