We are very proud of our talented residents, our lobby was transformed to a beautiful art gallery. More pictures on page 7.

2 Looking Forward American House Resident Picnic On Wednesday, June 22nd, we will be going to Jaycee Park in Troy for our Resident Picnic. This is a fun day!

2 2 Looking Forward American House Resident Picnic On Wednesday, June 22nd, we will be going to Jaycee Park in Troy for our Resident Picnic. This is a fun day! We will join many other American house residents for music, games, dancing, prize giveaways and a great picnic. The bus will leave at 10:30 and we will be home about 3 pm. We look forward to this picnic each year so make sure you sign up in the lobby book! Last year s picnic: Pat and John are dancing around the tables. Flag Day Ceremony We will be having a Flag Day Ceremony on June 14th. The ceremony will start with our Veterans raising the Flag at 11:45 am in the front of the building along with the Pledge of Allegiance, then we will go directly to a picnic buffet, with all the summer fixings and flags for everybody. After our meal, Dan Hays will be here to entertain you with patriotic music. This is a special patriotic day; we are very proud of having our Veterans lead this day for us. Come join the fun! B210 Zoe R Resident Surveys On Tuesday, June 14th, you ll be receiving our Resident Survey. This is your chance to tell us what s working and what can be improved in your community! We re looking forward to hearing what s on your mind. We encourage you to fill this survey out; it s an opportunity to voice your concerns and your praise - your opinion matters! Please fill out the surveys; they are important to us! If you would like to see many changes or none at all, we need you to let us know. We will be having an Ice Cream Social on Tuesday, June 21st, at 2pm. This is our survey collection day. If you bring your completed and sealed survey to the office between the 14th and the 21st you will get your name in a drawing for a $25.00 gift card to be drawn during entertainment this day! We appreciate your cooperation.

3 Headline News Men s Breakfast Thursday, June 16th, we will be having a Father s Day Men s Breakfast 8am to 9am in the back of the dining room.

Veterans Get-together Our Veterans get-together was a good time!

We had a small turnout, but hopefully our new resident Veterans will come to HAPPY FATHER S DAY these meetings, along with the guys who have been here for some time.

Bake Sale Our bake sale to raise money for the American House Foundation was a big hit. We raised $129.35 for the bake sale and $114.00 for the 50/50 raffle.

3 3 Headline News Men s Breakfast Thursday, June 16th, we will be having a Father s Day Men s Breakfast 8am to 9am in the back of the dining room. This is a special treat just for the men. Bring your appetite, Barb will be making your eggs to order along with fried potatoes, toast, meat and homemade jam. Veterans Get-together Our Veterans get-together was a good time! Doug (from Patriot Ambulance Service), spent time getting to know our resident Veterans and giving information about his experiences. We had a small turnout, but hopefully our new resident Veterans will come to HAPPY FATHER S DAY these meetings, along with the guys who have been here for some time. This is only open for Veterans, so please feel free to come and join the other guys. Snacks and drinks are served, but mostly it s a chance to get to know each other. Bake Sale Our bake sale to raise money for the American House Foundation was a big hit. We raised $ for the bake sale and $ for the 50/50 raffle. The winner of half the 50/50 was Shayla from the Medical Team. Thank you for your generous donations! Resident Meetings We will be changing the resident meetings to quarterly. They will still be held in the lobby. Our next meeting will be held in August. Any questions or concerns should be addressed to the office, at any time.

Independence Day is coming fast and so is Flag Day. We all like to show off our red, white and blue so let s get creative and dress our doors in style. We take trips on the bus to the dollar store, along with other fairly inexpensive stores to get decorations so sign up and let s pick up some decorations. A special craft class will be on Friday, June 3rd, at 10:30 for the new residents, so you can make a red, white and blue wreath for your door. This is also for those who did not make one last year.
