7 ASK your grad SCHOLASTIC REQUIREMENTS FOR GRADUATION Credits: Students must have a minimum of 80 credits in order to graduate with a Dogwood Diploma. 52 of these credits are comprised of Ministry required courses, while the remaining 28 credits come from elective credits. Details of the graduation requirements can be found at Grad Transition: A required Ministry course is Grad Transition 12 which consists of the following: 5 Grade 10 Planning assignments, 30 hours of work experience, daily PE assignment log, Grad Transition Assignments and the exit interview. All exit interviews will be scheduled on March 9 th and are mandatory for graduation. Graduation Advisors: Each of the grade 12 students has been assigned a graduation advisor or counsellor. They are divided alphabetically as follows: Mrs. Donald A to L Mr. McLoughlin- M to Z Mr. Berg- Aboriginal Advisor *****Should you have any questions or concerns regarding graduation requirements, please contact the appropriate advisor***** EXPENSES: GRAD FEES: $75.00 Payable to Timberline Grad by December 15 th Prom Tickets: $40.00 each (grads must purchase a ticket as well) Dry Grad Fees: $ all fees can be offset by fundraising a total of 35 points (please refer to fundraising outline for more information)

8 ***DRY GRAD FEES ARE SOLEY DETERMINED BY FUNDRAISING EFFORTS!!!!*** Fundraising Outline The Point System is in place to pay for the dry after grad celebration that follows the Graduation Ceremony in June. The cost of a basic after grad is $175 and this covers rental of the arena, food, a hard cover year book, a grad t-shirt and other souvenirs. The entertainment is based on how much money is fundraised beyond the $175. More money raised more entertainment provided. Another way to pay for after grad is to earn 35 points. For each fund raiser, depending on the amount of money raised and the number of people involved, students can earn points. For example 1 poinsettia sold = 1 point. 1 coffee bag sold = 1 point. The value of 1 point is equivalent to $5 towards the Dry Grad fee. Point values are determined by the people in charge of the fund raiser once all expenses are paid. In fundraisers where participation is required (grocery store bagging, bottle drives) parents can volunteer their time and earn points towards their grad s fees. Once students have accumulated 35 points they have paid for their dry after grad. Student can also pay for after grad by paying $175 cash at any time. However, the more points earned, the better the After Grad will be as more money will be spent on entertainment. If partial points are raised, then a portion of after grad must be paid for. Examples: If students earned 6 points they would then owe $145. If students earned 25 point they would then owe $50. Note: There are no half points. Each full $5 goes towards one point. Another will not be earned until the full $5 increment is raised. Other Notes: Points are NOT transferable. You can NOT give your extra points to a friend. You can NOT use points to pay for prom, ceremony, cap & gown or photos they can be used for After Grad ONLY. 35 points or $175 pays for a basic after grad. Points raised above the 35 will go towards MORE food, MORE entertainment and prizes. Students are strongly encouraged to raise as many points as they can. Many students, wanting the best grad ever, raise 50, or more points. Incentives will be rewarded for the top fundraisers.
