Moose News February 2013 Volume 7 Issue 2 Lodge #2374 Lake Placid, Florida Phone: 863-465-0131 Governor s Gavel To all our Brothers and Sisters of our Lodge: The District Meeting will be held in Wauchula this month on the 9 th, starting at 1 p.m. We would like to see everyone come and enjoy a meal and the opportunity to meet fellow members from our neighboring Lodges. There are numerous drawings and chances to win individual prizes. This year your attendance also counts towards a chance for our Lodge to win a flat screen TV so the more the merrier! In addition, the Wauchula Lodge has had some problems in the past and had to close. They recently have reopened and it would be great for our members to show our support for our fellow Lodge - so please plan on attending. I will be posting an entertainment schedule for the current month on all bulletin boards. This will happen each month and will make it easy to check the upcoming entertainment. I attended the Executive Board Meeting at Moosehaven in Jacksonville at the end of January. To actually see where and to whom our member s donations support was inspiring. I hope many of you get the chance to visit Moosehaven for yourselves and see what great things are being done for our seniors. The meetings were very informative and I brought back new information that will help our Lodge move forward and continue to be the best Lodge in the area. I encourage all of our members to attend general LOOM meetings and WOTM meetings to help you stay informed and to have the opportunity to learn more about this great organization we are a part of. Your input is also very important to our success. It s that time of year again. Elections for all LOOM officers will be held April 2, 2013. All those interested in running for office please sign next to the position you are running for. The sign-up sheet will be posted on the main bulletin board. Deadline to sign up by is February 26, 2013. Thanks to all our members and volunteers. I know with your continued support we will continue to grow and have great times and success at our Lodge! Jeff Hill Governor A Message from our Senior Regent Dear Co-workers and Brothers : We are collecting donations for Moosehaven (our senior retirement center). Please try and attend our monthly meetings. The scheduled dates are on the calendar. Fraternally Yours, Julianne Ferguson Senior Regent
