1 Dear Comrades: YOU MAKE A DIFFERENCE! Thank you for dedicating your time and energy to being a leader in our Department of PA VFW. Much of the success that we will accomplish during the year will be through your commitment to keeping our organization as the best veterans service organization in the world. The VFW is all about service service to veterans from all eras, service to today s military troops, service to local communities, and service to citizens of all ages and from all walks of life. Our future success as a member-driven organization lies in continuing that tradition of service. Veterans are such a wonderful community resource. Your military service generated a tremendous appreciation for freedom, our flag and our nation. You are uniquely gifted and wholly dedicated to continuing our service through the VFW. You are an invaluable resource to the VFW. While we each have individual roles to carry out through our leadership positions, it is through our collective work that we will further advance the VFW s image and impact as a service organization. This directory gives you the information you need to tap into the expertise, support and ideas of other PA VFW leaders. Please communicate and cooperate with your comrades. Let's implement a service first mission plan by using our VFW programs and activities as force multipliers. This will lead to membership growth and greater awareness about our tradition, our mission and our desire to be an inclusive organization. Thank you for your service in the military and in the VFW! Thomas A. Brown State Commander
