Aims and objectives of the organization: On a separate department of Women & Child Development was carved out of Social Welfare Department to exclusively deal with the issues related with welfare of women and children. W & CD Department is implementing the following social legislations:- i. Juvenile Justice (Care & protection of Children) Act 2000 ii. The Probation of Offender s Act, 1958 iii. The Women s and Children s Institutions (Licensing) Act, 1956 iv. The Good Conduct Prisoner s Probational Release Act v. The Dowry Prohibition Act vi. The Persons With Disability (Equal Opportunities, Protection of Rights and free Participation) Act, vii. Prevention of Domestic Violence against Women Act, viii. Ladli Scheme.
